Informing spatial conservation prioritization with species’ traits
Abstract New Guinea, the most botanically diverse island on the planet, is the location for one of the boldest conservation initiatives. The Manokwari Declaration aims to achieve 70% conservation designation for the Bird's Head Peninsula. This is 40% higher than the 2022 Global Biodiversity Framework target.

Harnessing social media data to track species range shifts
Abstract Biodiversity monitoring programs and citizen science data remain heavily biased toward the Global North. Especially in megadiverse countries with limited biodiversity records, incorporating social media data can help address existing data gaps.

Learner‐Focused Strategy Instruction From the Teachers’ and the Learners’ Perspective
ABSTRACT Numerous large‐scale quantitative studies have been conducted to yield a macro‐level picture of the effectiveness of strategy instruction. However, little is understood about learners' actual processing of strategy instruction and interaction with the teachers delivering it.

ABSTRACT Reliable operation of high‐performance magnetostrictive devices, composed of the giant magnetostrictive material (GMM), that is, the TbDyFe alloy, critically depends on an optimally tailored bias magnetic field. Sufficient intensity and uniformity are essential to induce the ideal initial strain in the GMM, enabling peak reciprocating output ...

ABSTRACT Ni3S2 has emerged as a promising catalyst for the electrochemical oxidation of biomass‐derived 5‐hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) to 2,5‐furandicarboxylic acid (FDCA), driven by its distinctive physicochemical properties. However, its practical catalytic efficiency is severely hindered by abundant electrochemically inactive surface sites and poor ...

ABSTRACT This study introduces novel nonequiatomic TiZrCoCrMoCux (x = 0, 5, 10; at%) medium‐entropy alloys (MEAx) tailored for orthopedic implants, synergistically combining the biocompatibility of Ti‐based alloys, the wear resistance of CoCrMo alloys, and the antibacterial/osteogenic attributes of Cu. The alloy's microstructure, mechanical properties,

Contribution of microcosm experiments to conservation science
Abstract Microcosms, or miniature experimental systems, have been used to develop models and theories in ecology. However, their contribution to conservation science is unclear. We explored the application, design, and impact of microcosms in conservation science from 469 systematically identified articles published from 1986 to 2023.

ABSTRACT Introducing solid‐state phase transformations into the design of heterogeneous structures is considered an effective strategy for simultaneously optimizing both microstructure and mechanical properties. This study investigates the thermodynamic and kinetic mechanisms of the γ → α transformation in Ti48Al5Nb2Cr0.6Re0.1C alloy under different ...
