Scientists in power plays: How substantive were scientists' narratives during the COVID‐19 pandemic?

open access: yesPolicy Studies Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Scientists who provide expert advice must engage with policy processes. Little is known about whether and how scientists deal with the political dynamics of policy processes that are inherent to policymaking. We study this question by building on the policy dimension concept within the Narrative Policy Framework.

Microbial mediation and mechanism derived from electron shuttle on the speciation of arsenic/iron from arsenic-enriched tailing mine sediments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016

Coalition Opportunity Structures and Advocacy Coordination in Consensus and Majoritarian Democracies

open access: yesPolicy Studies Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Research on advocacy coalitions suggests that belief homophily—the tendency of actors to coordinate based on shared policy beliefs—drives coalition formation. However, coalition opportunity structures, which are shaped by institutional contexts, may influence the extent to which belief homophily matters.

Randomised, Double‐Blinded, Placebo‐Controlled Challenge Test With Single Food Items in Dogs With Atopic Dermatitis and Adverse Food Reactions

open access: yesVeterinary Dermatology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Identification of offending foods in dogs with adverse food reactions is usually based on “deterioration” during open food challenges. Objectives To examine the placebo effect during double‐blinded, placebo‐controlled food challenges using a predefined set of criteria for relapse.

open access: yes, 2009

Factors That Influenced Coping With COVID‐19 During the Pandemic in Botswana

open access: yesWorld Medical &Health Policy, Volume 18, Issue 1, March 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper forms part of the broader Global South study, Personal and Family Coping with COVID‐19 in the Global South, which examines psychosocial and behavioral responses to the COVID‐19 pandemic. In Sub‐Saharan Africa, the pandemic posed significant psychological, social, and economic challenges, with important implications for preparedness ...

open access: yesShuitu Baochi Xuebao, 2008

open access: yes

open access: yes, 2009

Genetic origins and climate‐induced erosion in economically important Asian walnuts

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 40, Issue 1, February 2026.
Abstract The global climate is undergoing unprecedented changes, posing significant threats to species persistence. However, the spatiotemporal impacts on genetic diversity remain poorly understood, hindering species conservation and management. Walnuts, generally referred to as Juglans regia and J. sigillata, are economically vital in Asia, but little
