Simulated elephant foraging alters tree root exudation rates: Species‐specific responses and implications for belowground carbon dynamics in tropical forests

Asian elephants play crucial roles in ecosystem functioning, and their interactions with plants influence above‐ and belowground carbon cycling. We tested whether their mechanically destructive foraging triggers short‐term, stress‐induced shifts in tree root exudation, an underappreciated pathway linking herbivory to belowground carbon processes.

2种草本植物根系对崩岗洪积扇土壤抗剪强度的影响

为探讨草本植物根系对崩岗洪积扇土壤抗剪强度的影响,以巨菌草(Pennisetum sp.)和宽叶雀稗(Paspalum wettsteinii)为研究对象,采用WinRHIZO根系分析系统对根系特征进行定量分析,并采用原位剪切试验测定崩岗洪积扇各土层的抗剪强度。结果表明:(1)根系能够改善土壤的结构及水分状况。(2)2种草本植物根系均主要分布在0—5 cm土层,该层巨菌草根系各参数值是该草种根系均值的3.1~4.39倍,宽叶雀稗的则为2.23~2.57倍;随着土层深度的增加,巨菌草根系参数呈对数函数减小,

梭梭根系内水分再分配验证及其对根系寿命的影响

Harvesting of two alpine Artemisia: Effects of an amateur practice on wild plant dynamics

Wild plants are consumed all over the world, and knowledge of the effects of harvesting is necessary to ensure the sustainability of this activity. Our 3‐year study of two closely related alpine Artemisia species in the Southern Alps revealed a positive impact of harvesting at the plant scale and on the short term.

滇南地区普洱茶树根系对土壤优先路径形成的影响

3种荒漠盐生植物根系及根毛形态特征的比较研究

在水培条件下,针对梭梭、囊果碱蓬和钠猪毛菜3种荒漠盐生植物,研究它们苗期在不同盐浓度条件下根系和根毛形态的差异。结果表明一定浓度的盐分可以促进3种盐生植物生长,但较高浓度的盐抑制其生长,特别是对根系生长的抑制作用更大。在同样盐浓度下,钠猪毛菜的生长最快,生物量也最大。在盐分浓度较低时,3种盐生植物的主根长和总根长都有所增加,与对照相比,囊果碱蓬增加的幅度较大,但高浓度的盐会抑制根系总长度的增加,其中囊果碱蓬较梭梭和钠猪毛菜抑制的程度轻。盐分对3种植物的根系平均直径没有显著的影响,但有减小的趋势 ...
