关于丢番图方程x4-Dy2=1,D>0,且不是平方数,（1）Ljunggren,Cohn和本文作者都有过不少工作,现简述如下:1.1942年,Ljunggren证明了丢番图方程（1）最多只有二组正整数解（x,y）。2.1966年,Ljunggren证明了,当D=ρ是一个奇素数时,则丢番图方程（1）在ρ≠5,29时,没有正整数解。在ρ=5时,仅有正整数解x=3,y=4,在ρ=29时,仅有正整数解x=99,y=1820。
