ABSTRACT Silica nanosheets (SiO2 NSs) hold great promise for advanced thermal protection applications because of their exceptional thermal and chemical stability. However, their development has been hindered by challenges in scalable synthesis and structural integration for specialized applications.

Sri Lanka's biodiversity is threatened by habitat loss, climate change, and ineffective traditional conservation methods. Integrating plant tissue culture and DNA barcoding offers scalable, precise tools for conserving rare and endemic species. This review emphasizes the potential of biotechnological approaches to enhance conservation accuracy and ...

Abstract Identifying refugia from emerging threats is vital to ensure the persistence of rare and threatened species, but modeling habitat distribution for these species is challenging and the role of people in refuge management is rarely considered. Myrtle rust is an emerging infectious disease that represents a grave threat to the rare wetland tree ...

Physiological roles of lignins – tuning cell wall hygroscopy and biomechanics
Summary Lignins constitute the second most abundant carbon‐storing biopolymers in the biosphere. These phenolic polymers accumulate in different concentrations, compositions, and localisations within and between cell wall layers and cell types. Lignins were acquired during plant terrestrialisation 450 million years ago, and the diversification of their

Our study identifies southern China, including mountainous regions and islands, as key areas rich in phylogenetic diversity, and phylogenetic endemism of lizards that are currently under‐protected. Current protected areas however do not adequately cover regions that are critical for preserving the evolutionary history of lizards.

We found that the Asian Openbill primarily roosted near waterbodies and frequently used farmland habitats, with significantly higher populations observed during the breeding season. Farmland and wetland areas exhibited a positive effect on the species' habitat use.

Seasonality of temperature dependence of methane fluxes from natural wetlands
Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract Temperature dependence is a crucial parameter in estimating methane (CH4) fluxes from natural wetlands, yet our understanding of this parameter remains inadequate. Seasonal fluctuations in water levels and ecosystem productivity lead to seasonal differences in CH4 ...

Background – Allergen immunotherapy is used as aetiological treatment for canine atopic dermatitis (cAD). Objective – To assess the anti‐inflammatory agent‐sparing effect over 1 year of immunotherapy using pullulan‐conjugated recombinant Der f 2 (rDf2‐P). Conclusions and Clinical Relevance – Der f 2‐P immunotherapy can lead to a rapid reduction in anti‐
