Emotional and attitudinal responses to social media depictions of human–wildlife interactions at wildlife tourist attractions

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 40, Issue 1, February 2026.
Abstract Wildlife tourist attractions (WTAs) can permit interactions between humans and wildlife that are detrimental to the animals’ welfare and species conservation. Social media portraying human–wildlife interactions could affect people's perceptions of their acceptability and desirability or stimulate demand for detrimental practices.

Understandings and critiques of biocultural diversity conservation and future recommendations for conservation actors

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 40, Issue 1, February 2026.
Abstract As biocultural approaches to conservation gain traction (e.g., through international commitments to Indigenous Peoples and local communities) and external conservation actors increasingly seek to engage with on‐the‐ground holders of biocultural diversity, improved understanding is needed of what biocultural diversity means.

open access: yesShuitu Baochi Xuebao, 2017

Mitigating light pollution impacts on arthropods based on light‐emitting diode properties

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 40, Issue 1, February 2026.
Abstract Light pollution from artificial light at night (ALAN) is a significant environmental problem with far‐reaching consequences for ecological systems. Recent innovations in light‐emitting diode (LED) technology may offer sustainable outdoor lighting solutions, but scientific evidence is lacking. We investigated the effects of various LED lighting

Metadiscourse and Teacher Moves for Supporting Student Reasoning in Linguistics Classroom Interactions

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Linguistics, Volume 36, Issue 1, Page 522-539, February 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper examines the features of metadiscourse across different teacher moves in university linguistics classroom discourse and the teaching strategies reflected in its use. The results reveal that teachers employ diverse metadiscourse during classroom interactions to support student reasoning.

SWEET1‐mediated glucose transport is crucial for energy availability in Arabidopsis

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 249, Issue 4, Page 1816-1830, February 2026.
Summary The stress‐responsive hormone abscisic acid (ABA) is known for its inhibitory effects on various physiological processes, including seed germination, often resulting in energy deprivation. Interestingly, ABA‐induced germination inhibition can be alleviated by exogenous glucose (Glc), mimicking a functional interplay between ABA and sugar ...

open access: yesShuitu Baochi Xuebao, 2004

Incidence Rate of Otitis Externa Episodes in Atopic Dogs Is Reduced by a Therapeutic Diet in a 6‐Month Randomised, Blinded, Controlled, Clinical Trial

open access: yesVeterinary Dermatology, Volume 37, Issue 1, Page 89-102, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Recurrent otitis externa (OE) episodes commonly affect dogs with canine atopic dermatitis (cAD) despite ongoing cAD treatment. Objective To determine if a therapeutic diet with active ingredients targeting the skin barrier and allergy pathways reduces the incidence rate of OE.

Single Cold Atmospheric Plasma Therapy May Improve the Treatment Outcome of Canine Otitis Externa With Secondary Infection

open access: yesVeterinary Dermatology, Volume 37, Issue 1, Page 103-110, February 2026.
Background: Otitis externa with secondary bacterial or yeast infection is a common problem in small animal practice. Cold physical plasma (CPP) has been reported to have antimicrobial activity in vitro. Results: Ears treated additionally with CPP showed lower otic scores after 21 days compared to nontreated ears, although this difference was not ...
