, 2017 ペインクリニックに痛みで受診する高齢者は, 年々増加している. その背景に, 高齢者層にペインクリニック診療が普及しただけではなく, 日本の高齢化が進んで結果, 痛みで悩んでいる高齢の方が多いからではないかと考えられる. 高齢者の疼痛管理を行う上で, まず高齢者の感覚神経の働きの変化と, 痛みの特徴の理解が必要となる. 治療のアプローチでは, 神経ブロックの適応は青壮年層と変わらないが, 心血管系病変や肝腎機能障害を併発している事が多く, それに対する治療内容の確認など, より細やかな配慮が必要となる.
