Advances in Thermoelectric Cu2ZnSnS4: From Structure, Synthesis to Performance

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Thermoelectric technology has the capacity to directly convert waste heat into electricity and vice versa. For a long time, Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) has been extensively researched in the domains of solar cells and photocatalysis due to its exceptional photovoltaic properties, but its wide bandgap prevents it from being favored in thermoelectrics ...

Rational Design of Bimetallic MOF‐Derived Cu/Co@N‐C Nanocubes for Ultrasensitive Electrochemical Nitrite Detection

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT A facile coprecipitation‐pyrolysis strategy was employed to fabricate Cu/Co nanoparticles (NPs) embedded in nitrogen‐doped carbon matrices (Cu/Co@N‐C) through the carbonization of CuCo‐MOF precursors. Moreover, monometallic counterparts of Cu@N‐C and Co@N‐C were also prepared via carbonization of bimetallic CuZn‐MOF and CoZn‐MOF, respectively.

Revealing the Roles of Electrolyte Concentration on Transition Metal Dissolution and Reaction Pathway of Anion Adsorption Pseudocapacitance

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Conventional lithium‐ion battery cathodes predominantly rely on reversible lithium intercalation in bulk, which inevitably induces phase transitions, transition metal migration, and voltage decay. Electrolytic anion adsorption pseudocapacitance provides a chance for bypassing these issues via a surface‐dominated reaction, especially in ...

Abnormal Phase Transition Mechanism in the CoCrAlY Bond Coat Revealed by In Situ and Ex Situ Experiments

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT In Co‐based alloys, the γ phase is normally stable at high temperatures and the ε phase at low temperatures, and there is a martensitic transition on cooling to ∼417°C. In the γ/β dual‐phase CoCrAlY bond coat of turbine blade thermal barrier coating systems, we observed the opposite: γ remained stable at room temperature, yet it underwent a γ →

Host–Guest Interactions Govern Drug Stability and Controlled Therapeutic Release: Based on Metal–Organic Frameworks as Smart Platforms

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Due to their exceptional porosity, structural versatility, and modular coordination chemistry, metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) have emerged as versatile platforms for targeted drug delivery. These structures enable fine‐tuning of pore size, surface activity, and framework stability for the encapsulation of a broad range of therapeutics ...
