EU Policy‐Making in the Digital Age: Major Trends and Insights From Public Policy Research

open access: yesEuropean Policy Analysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Has digitalization changed policy‐making dynamics at the European Union (EU) level? To investigate this issue, this article presents a scoping review of the literature on EU digital policy‐making. While much scholarship adopts a ‘Governance’ approach, two conceptually rich strands emerge: critical approaches, and digital sovereignty.

Digital Rights Activism in Multilevel Governance

open access: yesEuropean Policy Analysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Multilevel governance (MLG) without a clear hierarchical structure can create power imbalances among various actors, particularly in settings with overlapping jurisdictions and policy areas. This dynamic is especially pronounced in Internet governance, which faces a complex interplay of domestic laws, state interdependence, and heightened ...

First Confirmed Cooperative Breeding of the Brown Hornbill (Anorrhinus austeni) in China at the Sino–Lao Frontier

open access: yesIntegrative Conservation, EarlyView.
First confirmed breeding of the Brown Hornbill in China, documented through cooperative feeding in Shangyong Protected Area. ABSTRACT The Brown Hornbill (Anorrhinus austeni), a Near Threatened frugivore, reaches the northern edge of its distribution in southern Yunnan, China, yet breeding had not been previously documented with site‐attributed nests in

Functional Stability Despite Taxonomic Changes in Mixed‐Species Foraging Flock Participants Along an Elevational Gradient in Knuckles Montane Reserve, Sri Lanka

open access: yesIntegrative Conservation, EarlyView.
This research reveals the functional stability of mixed species foraging flocks (MSF) and their foraging height change with different taxonomic differences along the elevational gradient at Knuckles Montane Reserve, Sri Lanka. This offers new insights into how MSFs sustain with the elevational gradients supporting the altitudinal shifting species ...

“Not a Single Leaf Is Meant to be Taken With You”: Conservation Motivations and Belief Systems in a Khasi Sacred Landscape of Meghalaya, India “一片叶子都不许带走”:印度梅加拉亚邦卡西族神圣景观中的保护动机与信仰体系

open access: yesIntegrative Conservation, EarlyView.
This study examines the Mawphlang Sacred Forest in Meghalaya as a culturally embedded model of community‐led conservation. Drawing on qualitative fieldwork, it highlights how spiritual reverence, sacred taboos, and ancestral authority shape ecological stewardship, complementing formal governance systems.

Life Stage‐Specific Genetic Diversity and Landscape Characteristics Collectively Influence Genetic Recovery in Pometia pinnata Population

open access: yesIntegrative Conservation, EarlyView.
Pometia pinnata demonstrated life‐stage‐specific genetic responses to landscape features, with asymmetric gene flow patterns and population recovery following historical bottlenecks, revealing complex topographic and demographic influences on forest genetic structure.

open access: yesLinchuang shenzangbing zazhi, 2014

Urbanization and Seasonality Increase Introduced Plant Consumption by the World's Southernmost Parrot

open access: yesIntegrative Conservation, EarlyView.
Urbanization may alter bird foraging. Austral Parakeets (Enicognathus ferrugineus) in Patagonia rely on introduced plants in urban areas, especially in winter, despite preferring natives in the wild. This seasonal reliance on introduced species highlights urbanization trade‐offs and underscores the need to manage green areas with native plants to ...

open access: yesShuitu Baochi Xuebao, 2018

A Preliminary Assessment of Noise‐Related Impacts From the Urban‐Invasive Johnstone's Whistling Frog (Eleutherodactylus johnstonei)

open access: yesIntegrative Conservation, EarlyView.
The Johnstone's whistling frog is an invasive species whose loud night‐time calls may affect human health and well‐being. Our study in Cali, Colombia, combined fieldwork and online surveys to assess its urban occupancy, density, and potential health impacts.
