VIRTUOUS INDECISIVENESS: Structural Moral Ambivalence and the Tentative Implementation of Non‐Invasive Prenatal Testing in Japan

open access: yesCultural Anthropology, Volume 38, Issue 2, Page 171-197, May 2023., 2023
ABSTRACT Anthropological engagement with moralities and ethics assumes that people evaluate themselves and others according to their notions of good and bad; yet little is known about how people evaluate the quality of their deliberations. Such evaluations of the seriousness of ethical deliberations prevail in Japan's genetic counseling for pregnant ...

Identifying treponemal disease in early East Asia

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Biological Anthropology, Volume 178, Issue 3, Page 530-543, July 2022., 2022
Syphilis in China before Vasco da Gama? Abstract Objectives Historic records suggest that a virulent form of treponematosis, sexually transmitted syphilis was introduced to Asia from Europe by the da Gama crew, who landed in India in 1498. Our objective is to assess the gross pathology of human skeletal remains from the Tang dynasty of China to test ...

全基因體定序對兒童神經疾病的診斷率和治療影響

open access: yesDevelopmental Medicine &Child Neurology, Volume 63, Issue 8, Page e1-e4, August 2021., 2021

Understanding Traditional Chinese Medicine to strengthen conservation outcomes

open access: yesPeople and Nature, Volume 3, Issue 1, Page 115-128, February 2021., 2021
Abstract Numerous treatments in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) involve the use of wildlife products, including some that utilize ingredients derived from endangered flora and fauna. Demand for such endangered wildlife products in TCM can threaten the survival of species and pose serious challenges for conservation.

Pyrolysis‐Engineered Fe/Mn‐ZIF Catalysts: Balancing Activity, Selectivity, and Stability for the Oxygen Reduction Reaction

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Metal oxide‐based catalysts for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) have drawn great attention in recent years. However, it remains technically challenging for the precise regulation of the overall performance due to the trade‐off effect among the activity, selectivity, and stability of electrocatalysts. Herein, a balancing strategy to control the

Pre‐Formation of LiF‐Rich Interfaces on Prelithiated Si/C Anodes for High‐Energy Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Prelithiation is effective for compensating active lithium‐ion (Li+) loss in silicon (Si)‐based battery electrode materials. However, owing to the dynamic growth of the solid electrolyte interface (SEI), capacity fading remains the biggest challenge for the industrialization of Si electrodes.

Vertically Oriented Single‐Layer Grains for a Highly Bifunctional Perovskite Photovoltaic Light‐Emitting Device

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT The realization of bifunctional perovskite devices integrating photovoltaic (PV) and light‐emitting diode (LED) capabilities requires precisely controlled grain architectures to facilitate dual carrier transport pathways. In this work, sulfaguanidine (SG) molecules were introduced into the perovskite solution to reconstruct the crystallization

Dissolution‐Controlled Phase Separation of Cs+/Rb+ in High‐Salinity Brines via All‐Inorganic Prussian Blue Analogs

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT The similar physicochemical properties of alkali metal elements make the co‐enrichment and precise separation of Cs+ and Rb+ in complex brine systems highly challenging. Here, an all‐inorganic strategy is proposed, which achieves efficient enrichment and precise separation of Cs+ and Rb+ in high‐salt systems by constructing Sr2+/Ba2+‐based ...

F‐Mediated Precise Control Over Amorphous/Crystalline Fe/Ni‐Based Phosphides Heterostructure for Efficient Oxygen Evolution Reaction

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Transition metal‐based amorphous/crystalline (a/c) heterostructured catalysts have garnered significant attention due to their exceptional activity, stability, and cost‐effectiveness. However, the precise synergistic regulation of interfacial composition and phase states remains challenging.
