1987年1O月-1989年10月,在阿拉善高原(腾格里沙漠、乌兰布和沙漠)和鄂尔多斯高原(毛乌素沙地)的5个地点采到18只贺兰山岩鹨(漠岩鹨)标本。调查证明,此种并不分布贺兰山,而是阿拉善高原和鄂尔多斯高原沙漠灌丛中常见的冬候鸟,国内主要分布内蒙古,也及宁夏、甘肃。文中叙述了此种鸟的分布区、越冬地生境、形态特征与种下分类、活动特点、食性、迁徙日期、数量与益害关系等,分析了百余年来造成资料空缺的原因,并提议此种的中名改称漠岩鹨,以消除误解。
