Emerging applications of large language models in ecology and conservation science

open access: yesConservation Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract Large language models (LLMs) mark a major development in artificial intelligence, with potentially transformative implications for ecology and conservation science. Built on advanced deep‐learning architectures, these models can support a wide range of tasks. We reviewed emerging applications of LLMs, drawing on the wider scientific literature

Comparing the Effects of Collaborative and Independent Writing on EFL Learners’ Individual Writing Performance: An Intervention Study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Linguistics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Collaborative writing has attracted increasing attention in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) instruction due to its potential to enhance learners’ writing competence. However, few studies have examined the comparative effects of collaborative versus independent writing on EFL learners’ individual performance, especially in higher‐order ...

Interfacial Engineering of Sodiophilic Metal Layers on Liquid Alloys for Dendrite‐Free Sodium Metal Anodes

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Sodium metal batteries hold significant promise for large‐scale energy storage due to the high theoretical capacity and abundant sodium sources, yet sodium‐metal anodes are hindered by dendrite propagation, unstable solid electrolyte interphase, and poor cycling efficiency arising from uneven Na deposition and volume changes.

Edge‐Fluorinated Flower‐Like Porous Graphene Microspheres With Enlarged Interlayer Spacing for High‐Performance Potassium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT The utilization of carbonaceous anodes in electrochemical systems, particularly potassium‐ion batteries (PIBs), remains hindered by sluggish kinetics and modest capacities, which are caused by the intrinsic ion storage mechanisms and constrained interlayer spacings.

Bi/Bi2O3 Nanoparticles In Situ Embedded in Carbon as Anode Materials for Fast and Long‐Lasting Sodium–Ion Storage

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Bismuth anode materials are considered promising anode candidates for sodium–ion batteries (SIBs) due to their high theoretical capacity and appropriate working potential. Nevertheless, the significant volume expansion that occurs during the cycling process restricts its broader application in sodium–ion storage. Herein, Bi/Bi2O3 nanoparticles

In Situ Formation of the Li3Bi Alloy Phase Interface for Robust Garnet Solid‐State Lithium Batteries

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Garnet‐type electrolyte Li6.4La3Zr1.4Ta0.6O12 (LLZTO) is a promising component for commercializing solid‐state batteries owing to its wide electrochemical window, good stability, and high shear modulus. However, poor interface wettability and lithium dendrite growth limit the practical application of the LLZTO electrolyte.

Construction of CoP/Mn2P Heterojunctions via One‐Step Phosphorization Coupled With Hollow Hard Carbon Spheres as Supports: Enabling Ultrastable Long‐Cycle Sodium‐Ion Anodes Over a Wide Temperature Range

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Driven by global energy transition and sustainability, sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs) have emerged as key alternatives to lithium‐ion batteries for low‐to‐medium energy storage, because of abundant sodium resources and low cost. However, their commercialization is hindered by the lack of anodes with high capacity, fast kinetics, and long‐term ...

Automating the analysis of public saliency and attitudes toward biodiversity from digital media

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 40, Issue 2, April 2026.
Abstract Measuring public attitudes toward wildlife provides crucial insights into human relationships with nature and helps monitor progress toward Global Biodiversity Framework targets. Yet, conducting such assessments at a global scale presents challenges.

Oxygen Vacancy Engineering of Ultrafine ZnAl2O4 Nanoparticles as a Robust Protective Layer for Dendrite‐Free and Long‐Lifespan Aqueous Zn Metal Anodes

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Aqueous zinc‐ion batteries (AZIBs) hold great promise for safe and sustainable energy storage, but their commercialization is impeded by severe Zn dendrite growth and interfacial instability. To address these challenges, we propose a defect engineering strategy employing ultrafine ZnAl2O4 (ZAO) nanoparticles (∼5 nm) with oxygen vacancy defects

雷电过电压作用下配电网电涌保护器配合保护失效概率分析

open access: yesDianci bileiqi, 2019
