Many nocturnal animals are difficult to study because they are rarely seen, including nocturnal primates, galagos and pottos, in West Africa. Working with over 600 people in 52 villages in southern Guinea‐Bissau, we found that communities frequently recognized galagos by their red eyeshine and distinctive calls, while pottos were not known.

We used automated behavioral response systems (ABRs) to assess invasive wild pig (Sus scrofa) behavioral response to four auditory playbacks: humans, coyote vocalizations (Canis latrans), pigs in distress, and barred owl (Strix varia) calls. Wild pigs had a significant flight response to human playbacks, but 68% of pigs did not flee.

By comparing widespread surveys with randomly placed cameras to a protocol pairing detection dogs with cameras, we found that the detection‐dog‐guided camera survey had approximately 33 times greater detections with fewer camera nights and reduced survey costs. 食管炎是临床上最常见的食管疾病,一般是由食管黏膜受到刺激或者损伤,继而引发食管黏膜充血水肿所致。根据病因不同可以分为反流性食管炎、真菌性食管炎、病毒性食管炎、化脓性食管炎等,其中真菌性食管炎是特殊的食道炎症,主要由于霉菌侵入食管粘膜组织导致食管感染,属消化道念珠菌病之一。食管破裂是食管病变的严重并发症,病情严重者可能引起穿孔,继而导致纵膈感染,病情进展迅速,预后不良,甚至死亡[1]。食管炎并发食管破裂者极其罕见,我院收治1例食管炎并发食管破裂、感染性休克的患者,现报告如下。
