野生动物学报, 1990 鸟类是大自然留给我们的宝贵财富,是人类的朋友,它们在维护生态平衡、美化人们生活方面部有重要的价值。我国地域辽阔,地理环境多样,鸟类资源丰富,现已查明的鸟类共1186种,占世界种类总数十分之一左右。其中还有朱鹮、丹顶鹤,白鹤、褐马鸡等多种特有珍稀鸟类。保护好这些珍贵的自然财富是我们的责任。为了进一步做好鸟类保护工作,1981年9月国务院批转林业部等8个部门提出的关于加强鸟类保护、开展全国性“爱鸟周”活动的决定,一个群众性的“爱鸟周”活动随即在全国开展起来。从1982年至今,全国已进行了8届“爱鸟周”活动。
