Solar Hydrogen Production with Metal/III–V Semiconductor Junction Monolithically Integrated on Si

open access: yesChemElectroChem, EarlyView.
GaAs is a promising material for high‐performance photoelectrochemical water splitting, but faces challenges like corrosion, cost, and large overpotentials. This study overcomes these by developing 1 µm thick GaAs layers on Si substrates. Using appropriate surface treatments, the GaAs/Si photocathodes show a significant 0.63 V onset potential shift and

Hydrothermally Synthesized BiVO4: The Role of KCl as Additive for Improved Photoelectrochemical and Photocatalytic Oxygen Evolution Activity

open access: yesChemElectroChem, EarlyView.
This study investigates the parameter space of hydrothermal BiVO4 synthesis with KCl as an additive. In depth materials characterization, supported by density functional theory (DFT) calculations, reveals that KCl acts as structure‐directing agent and enables anionic substitution of Cl−.

Dipole Polarization and Synchronous Magnetic Modulation Induced by FeN4 Moiety on Ti3C2Tx for Superior Electromagnetic Wave Absorption Performance

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
FePc can axially coordinate with Ti3C2Tx to obtain superior microwave absorption performance. The minimum reflection loss of Fe/TiO2/Ti3C2Tx composites reached –67.12 dB at 6.72 GHz with a thickness of 3.32 mm. The charge redistribution was activated due to the strong interaction between FePc and Ti3C2Tx, resulting in strong dipole polarization loss ...
