OR6-005 – Cystine crystals activate inflammasomes [PDF]

open access: yesPediatric Rheumatology, 2013
Introduction Nephropathic cystinosis is a rare autosomal recessive disorder caused by a mutation in the CTNS gene, which encodes for cystinosin. It is characterized by the lysosomal accumulation of cystine, which leads to the formation of cystine crystals within various organs, including kidneys, brain, cornea, intestine and bone marrow. The exact role

J/Psi suppressions in a thermally equilibrating quark-gluon plasma at RHIC [PDF]

open access: yesJHEP 9802:005,1998, 1997
We estimate the survival probability of $J/{\psi}$ in relativistic heavy-ion collisions, using both short-distance QCD and nuclear absorption mechanism. The suppression is found to be almost 100 percent for a thermally equilibrating quark-gluon plasma.
