Novel adsorption-based upgradation of end-of-life polypropylene pyrolysis oil using carbonised rice husk

open access: yesEnergy Conversion and Management: X
Plastic waste management is a global issue, with end-of-life polypropylene (EoL PP) having significant contribution. Polypropylene degradation forms undesirable compounds in pyrolysis oil, reducing its quality and limiting its fuel usability.

Ultrasound Evaluation of the Changes of Ophthalmic Artery Doppler and Optic Nerve Sheath in Pregnant Women With FGR

open access: yesJournal of Ultrasound in Medicine, EarlyView.
Objectives This study aimed to compare changes in ultrasonic Doppler parameters, particularly the peak ratio (PR) of the ophthalmic artery (OA) and optic nerve sheath diameter (ONSD), in pregnancies complicated by fetal growth restriction (FGR). Furthermore, it sought to evaluate differences in these parameters across various subgroups and analyze the ...

Noise simulations of flap devices for wind turbine rotors

open access: yesWind Energy, Volume 26, Issue 1, Page 23-43, January 2023., 2023
Abstract The rotor of a large diameter wind turbine experiences more substantial and more dynamic loads due to the fluctuating and heterogeneous wind field. The project SmartBlades 2.0 investigated rotor blade design concepts that alleviate aerodynamic loading using active and passive mechanisms. The present work evaluates the acoustics of the two load

White‐tailed deer movement in response to helicopter surveys

open access: yesWildlife Society Bulletin, Volume 46, Issue 5, December 2022., 2022
We found that helicopter surveys have minimal impacts on white‐tailed deer activity; however, individuals that were within 100 m of the helicopter path during flyovers had shorter step‐lengths. We recommend managers consider the effect of these behaviors when evaluating detection probabilities to obtain population estimates.
