Coherent feedback that beats all measurement-based feedback protocols

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2014
We show that when the speed of control is bounded, there is a widely applicable minimal-time control problem for which a coherent feedback protocol is optimal, and is faster than all measurement-based feedback protocols, where the latter are defined in a

Towards symmetric scheme for superdense coding between multiparties [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Recently Liu, Long, Tong and Li [Phys. Rev. A 65, 022304 (2002)] have proposed a scheme for superdense coding between multiparties. This scheme seems to be highly asymmetric in the sense that only one sender effectively exploits entanglement.

Propagation and survival of frequency‐bin entangled photons in metallic nanostructures

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 4, Issue 3, Page 324-331, October 2015., 2015
Abstract We report on the design of two plasmonic nanostructures and the propagation of frequency‐bin entangled photons through them. The experimental findings clearly show the robustness of frequency‐bin entanglement, which survives after interactions with both a hybrid plasmo‐photonic structure, and a nano‐pillar array.

Optimal quantum states for frequency estimation

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2014
We investigate different quantum parameter estimation scenarios in the presence of noise, and identify optimal probe states. For frequency estimation of local Hamiltonians with dephasing noise, we determine optimal probe states for up to 70 qubits, and ...

Modification of One‐Dimensional TiO2 Nanotubes with CaO Dopants for High CO2 Adsorption

open access: yesInternational Journal of Photoenergy, Volume 2014, Issue 1, 2014., 2014
One‐dimensional calcium oxide (CaO‐) based titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanotubes were successfully synthesized through a rapid electrochemical anodization and chemical wet impregnation techniques. In this study, calcium nitrate solution was used as a calcium source precursor.

Maximally entangled mixed states of two atoms trapped inside an optical cavity

open access: yes, 2008
In some off-resonant cases, the reduced density matrix of two atoms symmetrically coupled with an optical cavity can very approximately approach to maximally entangled mixed states or maximal Bell violation mixed states in their evolution.

[Retracted] Chemical Speciation and Potential Mobility of Heavy Metals in the Soil of Former Tin Mining Catchment

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, Volume 2012, Issue 1, 2012., 2012
This study describes the chemical speciation of Pb, Zn, Cu, Cr, As, and Sn in soil of former tin mining catchment. Total five sites were selected for sampling and subsequent subsamples were collected from each site in order to create a composite sample for analysis.

Imprecise probability for non-commuting observables

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2015
It is known that non-commuting observables in quantum mechanics do not have joint probability. This statement refers to the precise (additive) probability model.
