Novel vortex structures in dipolar condensates
We investigate the properties of single vortices and of vortex lattice in a rotating dipolar condensate. We show that vortices in this system possess many novel features induced by the long-range anisotropic dipolar interaction between particles.

Two-dimensional multisolitons and azimuthons in Bose-Einstein condensates with attraction
We present spatially localized nonrotating and rotating (azimuthon) multisolitons in the two-dimensional (2D) ("pancake-shaped configuration") Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) with attractive interaction.

Knots in a Spinor Bose-Einstein Condensate
We show that knots of spin textures can be created in the polar phase of a spin-1 Bose-Einstein condensate, and discuss experimental schemes for their generation and probe, together with their lifetime.Comment: 4 pages, 3 ...

Theory of magnetization plateaux in the Shastry-Sutherland model
Using perturbative continuous unitary transformations, we determine the long-range interactions between triplets in the Shastry-Sutherland model, and we show that an unexpected structure develops at low magnetization with plateaux progressively appearing

Radio Frequency Selective Addressing of Localized Particles in a Periodic Potential
We study the localization and addressability of ultra cold atoms in a combined parabolic and periodic potential. Such a potential supports the existence of localized stationary states and we show that using a radio frequency field allows to selectively ...

Interaction of topological solitons with defects: using a nontrivial metric
By including potential into the flat metric, we study interaction of sine-Gordon soliton with potentials. We will show numerically that while the soliton-barrier system shows fully classical behaviour, the soliton-well system demonstrates non-classical ...

Reentrant transition of bosons in a quasiperiodic potential
We investigate the behavior of a two dimensional array of Bose-Einstein condensate tubes described by means of a Bose-Hubbard Hamiltonian. Using a Wannier function expansion for the wavefunction in each tube, we compute the Bose-Hubbard parameters ...

Topological aspects in a two component Bose condensed system in neutron star
By making use of Duan-Ge's decomposition theory of gauge potential and the Duan's topological current theory proposed by Prof. Duan Yi-Shi, we study a two component superfluid Bose condensed system, which is supposed being realized in the interior of ...

Gaussian potentials facilitate access to quantum Hall states in rotating Bose gases
Through exact numerical diagonalization for small numbers of atoms, we show that it is possible to access quantum Hall states in harmonically confined Bose gases at rotation frequencies well below the centrifugal limit by applying a repulsive Gaussian ...
