Adapting grape varieties to new viticultural regions requires studying the influence of rootstock on wine quality. This study aimed to identify rootstocks that most enhance the enological characteristics of grapes of the Sangiovese variety grown in the ...

Non-Gaussian statistics of pencil beam surveys
We study the effect of the non-Gaussian clustering of galaxies on the statistics of pencil beam surveys. We find that the higher order moments of the galaxy distribution play an important role in the probability distribution for the power spectrum peaks.

Abstract Personality can be described at different levels of abstraction. Whereas the Big Five domains are the dominant level of analysis, several researchers have called for more fine‐grained approaches, such as facet‐level analysis. Personality facets allow more comprehensive descriptions, more accurate predictions of outcomes, and a better ...

Abstract This study explored the validity of person judgements by targets and their acquaintances (‘informants’) in longitudinally predicting a broad range of psychologically meaningful life experiences. Judgements were gathered from four sources (targets, N = 189; and three types of informants, N = 1352), and their relative predictive validity was ...

Deconstructing de Sitter [PDF]
Semiclassical gravity predicts that de Sitter space has a finite entropy. We suggest a picture for Euclidean de Sitter space in string theory, and use the AdS/CFT correspondence to argue that de Sitter entropy can be understood as the number of degrees ...

Combined Use of Multi-Temporal Optical and Radar Satellite Images for Grassland Monitoring
The aim of this study was to assess the ability of optical images, SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) images and the combination of both types of data to discriminate between grasslands and crops in agricultural areas where cloud cover is very high most of ...

On the Reaction Mechanism of Nitrate Radical and DMPO in Non‐aqueous Photocatalytic Media
This work identifies 2‐oxo‐5,5‐dimethyl‐1‐pyrroline 1‐oxyl (DMPOX), formed via the selective oxidation of 5,5‐dimethyl‐1‐pyrroline N‐oxide (DMPO) by nitrate radicals (NO3•) in nonaqueous media, as a distinctive EPR fingerprint of NO3•. The DFT‐supported mechanism clarifies its formation pathway and highlights DMPOX detection as a robust tool for ...

Abstract We establish the consistency and the asymptotic distribution of the least squares estimators of the coefficients of a subset vector autoregressive process with exogenous variables (VARX). Using a martingale central limit theorem, we derive the asymptotic normal distribution of the estimators. Diagnostic checking is discussed using kernel‐based
