MacMahon’s statistics on higher-dimensional partitions
We study some combinatorial properties of higher-dimensional partitions which generalize plane partitions. We present a natural bijection between d-dimensional partitions and d-dimensional arrays of nonnegative integers.

Does the group leader matter? The impact of monitoring activities and social ties of group leaders on the repayment performance of groupbased lending Eritrea [PDF]
This paper analyzes whether the effects of monitoring and social ties of the group leader and other group members on repayment performance of groups differ, using data from an extensive questionnaire held in Eritrea among participants of 102 groups.

New proofs of Schur-concavity for a class of symmetric functions
By properties of the Schur-convex function, Schur-concavity for a class of symmetric functions is simply proved uniform.2000 Mathematics Subject Classification: Primary 26D15; 05E05; 26B25.

Positivity of Schur function expansions of Thom polynomials [PDF]
Combining the Kazarian approach to Thom polynomials via classifying spaces of singularities with the Fulton-Lazarsfeld theory of numerical positivity for ample vector bundles, we show that the coefficients of various Schur function expansions of the Thom

An Analytic Formula for the A_2 Jack Polynomials [PDF]
In this letter I shall review my joint results with Vadim Kuznetsov and Evgeny Sklyanin [Indag. Math. 14 (2003), 451-482, math.CA/0306242] on separation of variables for the $A_n$ Jack polynomials.

Some Combinatorial Properties of Hook Lengths, Contents, and Parts of Partitions [PDF]
This paper proves a generalization of a conjecture of Guoniu Han, inspired originally by an identity of Nekrasov and Okounkov. The main result states that certain sums over partitions p of n, involving symmetric functions of the squares of the hook ...

The Rogers-Ramanujan identities, the finite general linear groups, and the Hall-Littlewood polynomials [PDF]
We connect Gordon's generalization of the Rogers-Ramanujan identities with the Hall-Littlewood polynomials and with generating functions which arise in a probabilistic setting in the finite general linear groups.

Background– Pseudomonas aeruginosa (PA) may cause suppurative otitis externa with severe inflammation and ulceration in dogs. Multidrug resistance is commonly reported for this organism, creating a difficult therapeutic challenge. Objective– The aim of this study was to evaluate the in vitro antimicrobial activity of a gel containing 0.5 µg/mL of ...

HALF-SPACE MACDONALD PROCESSES
Macdonald processes are measures on sequences of integer partitions built using the Cauchy summation identity for Macdonald symmetric functions. These measures are a useful tool to uncover the integrability of many probabilistic systems, including the ...
