MacMahon’s statistics on higher-dimensional partitions
We study some combinatorial properties of higher-dimensional partitions which generalize plane partitions. We present a natural bijection between d-dimensional partitions and d-dimensional arrays of nonnegative integers.

New proofs of Schur-concavity for a class of symmetric functions
By properties of the Schur-convex function, Schur-concavity for a class of symmetric functions is simply proved uniform.2000 Mathematics Subject Classification: Primary 26D15; 05E05; 26B25.

The Rogers-Ramanujan identities, the finite general linear groups, and the Hall-Littlewood polynomials [PDF]
We connect Gordon's generalization of the Rogers-Ramanujan identities with the Hall-Littlewood polynomials and with generating functions which arise in a probabilistic setting in the finite general linear groups.

Schur convexity for the ratios of the Hamy and generalized Hamy symmetric functions
In this paper, we present the Schur convexity and monotonicity properties for the ratios of the Hamy and generalized Hamy symmetric functions and establish some analytic inequalities. The achieved results is inspired by the paper of Hara et al.

Delta and Theta Operator Expansions
We give an elementary symmetric function expansion for the expressions $M\Delta _{m_\gamma e_1}\Pi e_\lambda ^{\ast }$ and $M\Delta _{m_\gamma e_1}\Pi s_\lambda ^{\ast }$ when $t=1$ in terms of what we call $\gamma $ -parking ...

Background– Pseudomonas aeruginosa (PA) may cause suppurative otitis externa with severe inflammation and ulceration in dogs. Multidrug resistance is commonly reported for this organism, creating a difficult therapeutic challenge. Objective– The aim of this study was to evaluate the in vitro antimicrobial activity of a gel containing 0.5 µg/mL of ...

Schubert polynomial expansions revisited
We give an elementary approach utilizing only the divided difference formalism for obtaining expansions of Schubert polynomials that are manifestly nonnegative, by studying solutions to the equation $\sum Y_i\partial _i=\operatorname {id}$ on ...

HALF-SPACE MACDONALD PROCESSES
Macdonald processes are measures on sequences of integer partitions built using the Cauchy summation identity for Macdonald symmetric functions. These measures are a useful tool to uncover the integrability of many probabilistic systems, including the ...

ABSTRACT Background Canine atopic dermatitis (cAD) is a multifactorial, inherited skin disease, estimated to affect ≤ 15% of dogs. Studies of skin messenger mRNA in cAD currently use invasive methods, including blood sampling and biopsy collection, whilst advances in human atopic dermatitis study methodology have demonstrated reliable use of minimally ...
