Abstract Background Pseudomonas aeruginosa is the most commonly isolated bacterium from skin lesions of dogs with post‐grooming furunculosis (PGF). It is frequently found in human hair and skin care products, and may pose a health risk to consumers. Information regarding the prevalence of P. aeruginosa contamination of dog grooming products is lacking.

Background – Because of the increased incidence of multidrug‐resistant (MDR) bacteria, the use of disinfectants over antibiotics has been encouraged. However, the interactions between disinfectants and host local immunity are poorly understood. Objective – To assess the effects of chlorhexidine digluconate (Chx), with and without selected host defence ...

Background– Pseudomonas aeruginosa (PA) may cause suppurative otitis externa with severe inflammation and ulceration in dogs. Multidrug resistance is commonly reported for this organism, creating a difficult therapeutic challenge. Objective– The aim of this study was to evaluate the in vitro antimicrobial activity of a gel containing 0.5 µg/mL of ...

The classification of partially symmetric 3-braid links
We classify 3-braid links which are amphicheiral as unoriented links, including a new proof of Birman- Menasco’s result for the (orientedly) amphicheiral 3-braid links. Then we classify the partially invertible 3-braid links.

Odd length for even hyperoctahedral groups and signed generating functions [PDF]
We define a new statistic on the even hyperoctahedral groups which is a natural analogue of the odd length statistic recently defined and studied on Coxeter groups of types $A$ and $B$.

Relative locations of subwords in free operated semigroups and Motzkin words [PDF]
Bracketed words are basic structures both in mathematics (such as Rota-Baxter algebras) and mathematical physics (such as rooted trees) where the locations of the substructures are important.

The Bloch-Okounkov correlation functions, a classical half-integral case
Bloch and Okounkov's correlation function on the infinite wedge space has connections to Gromov-Witten theory, Hilbert schemes, symmetric groups, and certain character functions of $\hgl_\infty$-modules of level one.

Combinatorial Bethe ansatz and ultradiscrete Riemann theta function with rational characteristics
The U_q(\hat{sl}_2) vertex model at q=0 with periodic boundary condition is an integrable cellular automaton in one-dimension. By the combinatorial Bethe ansatz, the initial value problem is solved for arbitrary states in terms of an ultradiscrete ...

Dual Ore's theorem on distributive intervals of finite groups
This paper gives a self-contained group-theoretic proof of a dual version of a theorem of Ore on distributive intervals of finite groups. We deduce a bridge between combinatorics and representations in finite group theory.Comment: 8 pages. Self-contained
