The Association between Late Third-Trimester Oxytocin Level and Early-Onset Postpartum Depression Symptoms among Jordanian Mothers: A Cross-sectional Study. [PDF]

open access: yesDepress Res Treat, 2022
Purpose. Oxytocin has been suggested to play a vital role in modulating maternal behavior and stress‐related disorders. However, the relationship between antenatal oxytocin and postpartum depression is not well established. We aim to investigate the association between serum oxytocin level in the late third‐trimester and early‐onset postpartum ...

Detrimental Synergistic Effects of Atmospheric Ozone and Polystyrene Nanoparticle Exposure on Human Adult Myogenic Progenitor Cells. [PDF]

open access: yesBiochem Res Int
Ozone (O3) and polystyrene nanoparticles (PNPs) display diffusive behavior that leads to toxicity in many tissues of the adult organism. In this study, we evaluated the interactions between atmospheric pollutants and human muscle, using human myogenic progenitor cells (huMPCs) derived from vastus lateralis skeletal muscle.

Long-Term Ketogenic Diet Induces Metabolic Acidosis, Anemia, and Oxidative Stress in Healthy Wistar Rats. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Nutr Metab, 2020
Background. Ketogenic diet has been used as supportive therapy in a range of conditions including epilepsy, diabetes mellitus, and cancer. Objective. This study aimed to investigate the effects of long‐term consumption of ketogenic diet on blood gas, hematological profiles, organ functions, and superoxide dismutase level in a rat model.

Time Period Analysis of Orthotropic Skew Plate with 2‐D Circular Thickness and 1‐D Circular Density

open access: yesMathematical Problems in Engineering, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
In the present study, the time period of vibration of an orthotropic parallelogram plate with 2−D (two‐dimensional) circular thickness under the effect of 2−D parabolic temperature is investigated for the first time. The different edge conditions are CCCC, CCCF, CFCF, CSCF, and SFSF boundary conditions, where C, S, and F stands for clamped, simply ...

Deep radio observations of 3C324 and 3C368: evidence for jet-cloud interactions [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
High resolution, deep radio images are presented for two distant radio galaxies, 3C324 (z=1.206) and 3C368 (z=1.132), which are both prime examples of the radio-optical alignment effect seen in powerful radio galaxies with redshifts z > 0.6.

Impact Strength Of Glass And Glass Ceramic [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Strength of glass and glass ceramic was measured with a bar impact technique. High-speed movies show regions of tensile and compressive failure. The borosilicatc glass had a compressive strength of at least 2.2 GPa, and the glass ceramic at least 4 GPa ...

Differing Pattern of Ambulatory Blood Pressure in Very Elderly Men Expresses Dynamics in Atherosclerotic Load in the Senescence

open access: yesInternational Journal of Hypertension, Volume 2012, Issue 1, 2012., 2012
To assess an impact of vascular risk factors on ambulatory blood pressure measurement (ABPM) in the elderly, we followed up a population‐based cohort of men from 68 until 82 years, when 104 survivors underwent ABPM. Results. At age 68, hypertension and high clinic blood pressure (CBP) did not predict ABPM level.
