Abstract The study identified process development priorities toward the feasible production of five value‐added biochemicals in a sugarcane biorefinery based on achievable bioconversion performances. Multiple process scenarios using A‐molasses as feedstock were simulated in Aspen Plus® via direct microbial conversions.

Primary Structure and Catalytic Mechanism of the Epoxide Hydrolase from Agrobacterium radiobacter AD1 [PDF]
The epoxide hydrolase gene from Agrobacterium radiobacter AD1, a bacterium that is able to grow on epichlorohydrin as the sole carbon source, was cloned by means of the polymerase chain reaction with two degenerate primers based on the N-terminal and C ...

ABSTRACT Multiwall carbon nanotube (NC7000) supported mono‐, bi‐, and trimetallic catalysts were synthesized and tested in a multi‐batch reactor setup supported by data‐driven modeling for the chemical hydrogenolysis of glycerol to 1,2‐Propanediol (1,2‐PDO) at 220°C under 30 bar hydrogen pressure in aqueous solution. ICP‐OES, N2‐physisorption, scanning

Functioning of inorganic/organic battery separators in silver-zinc cells [PDF]
The results of three experimental studies related to the inorganic/organic battery separator operating mechanism are described: saponification of the plasticizer, resistivity of the simulated separators, and zincate diffusion through the separators.

Alkali metal doping enhanced the catalytic performance of SrTiO3 for glycerol carbonate synthesis. Among the tested catalysts, the 10% Rb‐doped SrTiO3 exhibited the highest catalytic activity. This catalyst could be reused without substantial loss of activity and was applicable to various combinations of diols and alkyl carbonates.

Simulated elderly digestion showed markedly lower efficiency than adults. SV processing enhanced peptide release and bioaccessibility, and counteracted the reduced digestive efficiency of the EA model. ABSTRACT This study investigated how gastrointestinal (GI) changes in elderly achlorhydria individuals (EA) affect protein digestibility and peptide ...

A practical synthesis of chiral 3-aryloxy-1,2-propanediols
Chiral 3-aryloxy-1,2-propanediols (1–5) of >96 % ee were obtained in high yield by the nucleophilic addition of substituted phenols to chiral glycidol in the presence of piperidine hydrochloride as catalyst.
