Biooxidation of 1,8-cineole by Aspergillus terreus
Journal of Molecular Catalysis B: Enzymatic, 2009Abstract Biotransformation of 1,8-cineole by a strain of Aspergillus terreus isolated from Eucalyptus leaves was investigated. This strain produced four oxygenated compounds identified as 2-exo-hydroxy-1,8-cineole, 2-endo-hydroxy-1,8-cineole, 3-exo-hydroxy-1,8-cineole and 3-endo-hydroxy-1,8-cineole, with good bioconversion percentage and high ...

Application of Additives in 1,8-Cineole Purification
Advanced Materials Research, 2013The experimental studies for purification of 1,8-cineole by vacuum batch distillation as well as the application of additives in 1,8-cineole purification were carried out. There were two steps during the purification. In the first step, experimental results showed that the optimal operation conditions for purification of 1,8-cineole were the ...

7,9-dihydroxy-1,8-cineole and 2α,7-dihydroxy- 1,8-cineole: Two new possum urinary metabolites
Australian Journal of Chemistry, 1996Chemical syntheses for 7,9-dihydroxy-1,8-cineole (8a) and 2α,7-dihydroxy-1,8-cineole (9a) are reported. These products are identical with the urinary metabolites isolated from brushtail possums fed 1,8-cineole (1) and 2α-hydroxy-1,8-cineole (4) respectively.

Evolution and Occurrence of 1,8-Cineole (Eucalyptol) in Australian Wine
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2011A new method has been developed for the quantitation of 1,8-cineole in red and white wines using headspace solid-phase microextraction (SPME) combined with stable isotope dilution analysis (SIDA) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). An extensive survey of Australian wines (44 white and 146 red) highlighted that only red wines contained ...

The Fate of 1,8-cineole as a Chemical Penetrant: A Review
Current Drug DeliveryAbstract: The stratum corneum continues to pose the biggest obstacle to transdermal drug delivery. Chemical penetrant, the first generation of transdermal drug delivery system, offers a lot of potential. In order to fully examine the permeation mechanism of 1,8-cineole, a natural monoterpene, this review summarizes the effects of permeation-enhancing ...

AbstractThe chiral metabolites in human urine were investigated after ingestion of a 1,8‐cineole (eucalyptol)‐containing entero‐coated capsule (Soledum). For identification of the various enantiomers the enantiomerically pure (−/+)‐α2‐hydroxy‐1,8‐cineole, (−/+)‐β2‐hydroxy‐1,8‐cineole, (−/+)‐9‐hydroxy‐1,8‐cineole, and (−/+)‐2‐oxo‐1,8‐cineole were ...

1,8-cineole: An Underappreciated Anti-inflammatory Therapeutic
Journal of Biomolecular Research & Therapeutics, 2017The inflammatory response is typically initiated by infection or cellular injury, and provides host protection aimed at clearing the initial triggering event, as well as providing long-term protective immunity. When properly functioning, the inflammatory process is a mediator of acute injury to restore tissue health and is characteristically self ...

3-hydroxycineole, possum metabolites of 1,8-cineole
2023Chapter 1 The synthesis of racemic 3α- and 3β-hydroxycineole from 3-ketocineole are described. Characterization is achieved mainly by n.m.r. and this work is in part an amplification of published methods. Chapter 2 The synthesis of chiral 3α- and 3β-hydroxycineole from dehydrocineole are described.
