On Independent Domination in Planar Cubic Graphs

open access: yesDiscussiones Mathematicae Graph Theory, 2019
A set S of vertices in a graph G is an independent dominating set of G if S is an independent set and every vertex not in S is adjacent to a vertex in S.

Chemically Processed Porous V2O5 Thin‐Film Cathodes for High‐Performance Thin‐film Zn‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 12, March 18, 2025.
This study presents a rapid, cost‐effective chemical method for fabricating porous vanadium oxide thin‐film cathodes, aimed at enhancing charge storage in Zinc‐ion thin‐film batteries. The approach promises high‐performance, safe, and affordable thin‐film batteries, with industrial viability through efficient processing of highly porous cathodes ...

Strong Chromatic Index Of Planar Graphs With Large Girth

open access: yesDiscussiones Mathematicae Graph Theory, 2014
Let Δ ≥ 4 be an integer. In this note, we prove that every planar graph with maximum degree Δ and girth at least 1 Δ+46 is strong (2Δ−1)-edgecolorable, that is best possible (in terms of number of colors) as soon as G contains two adjacent vertices of ...

Drawing outer-1-planar graphs revisited

open access: yesJournal of Graph Algorithms and Applications, 2022
In a recent article (Auer et al., Algorithmica 2016) it was claimed that every outer-1-planar graph has a planar visibility representation of area $O(n\log n)$. In this paper, we show that this is wrong: There are outer-1-planar graphs that require $\Omega(n^2)$ area in any planar drawing. Then we give a construction (using crossings, but preserving

Structurally Colored Physically Unclonable Functions with Ultra‐Rich and Stable Encoding Capacity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 12, March 18, 2025.
This study reports a design strategy for generating bright‐field resolvable physically unclonable functions with extremely rich encoding capacity coupled with outstanding thermal and chemical stability. The optical response emerges from thickness‐dependent structural color formation in ZnO features, which are fabricated by physical vapor deposition ...

Strong oriented chromatic number of planar graphs without short cycles

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics & Theoretical Computer Science, 2008
Let M be an additive abelian group. A strong oriented coloringof an oriented graph G is a mapping φ from V(G) to M such that (1) φ(u) ≠ φ(v) whenever uv is an arc in G and (2) φ(v) - φ(u) ≠ -(φ(t) - φ(z)) whenever uv and zt are two arcs in

The Route to Artery Mimetics: Hybrid Bioinks for Embedded Bioprinting of Multimaterial Cylindrical Models

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The fabrication of a cellularized, multilayered 3D printed cylindrical model comprising hybrid bioinks inspired by the natural extracellular environment as an approach to artery mimetics, is presented. Using embedded bioprinting, interlayer crosslinking of self‐supporting concentric cylinders is achieved.

Unique Performance Considerations for Printable Organic Semiconductor and Perovskite Radiation Detectors: Toward Consensus on Best Practice Evaluation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A lack of standard approaches for testing and reporting the performance of metal halide perovskites and organic semiconductor radiation detectors has resulted in inconsistent interpretation of performance parameters, impeding progress in the field. This Perspective recommends key metrics and experimental details, which are suggested for reporting in ...
