A continuous record of fire covering the last 10,500 calendar years from southern Sweden — The role of climate and human activities

open access: yesPalaeogeography, Palaeoclimatology, Palaeoecology, 2010
A high-resolution, continuous 10,500 cal. yrs-long macroscopic charcoal record from a peat and lake sediment deposit at Storasjo, in the hemiboreal vegetation zone of southern Sweden, is presented. This record was compared with the microscopic charcoal record from the same core, and tentatively correlated with the macroscopic and microscopic charcoal ...

The Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and its use for the identification of fireball fragmentation

open access: yes, 2009
We propose an application of the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test for rapidity distributions of individual events in ultrarelativistic heavy ion collisions. The test is particularly suitable to recognise non-statistical differences between the events.

Spectroscopy of Broad Line Blazars from 1LAC [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We report on optical spectroscopy of 165 Flat Spectrum Radio Quasars (FSRQs) in the Fermi 1LAC sample, which have helped allow a nearly complete study of this population.

High‐capacity multiview display with large viewing angle via orbital angular momentum‐encoded nanograting arrays

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 14, Issue 24, Page 4341-4350, December 2025.
Abstract Three‐dimensional (3D) displays reconstruct spatial light fields, providing immersive stereoscopic experiences with depth perception. Multiview 3D displays are particularly attractive, delivering multiple perspective images to different spatial positions for glasses‐free multi‐user observation and continuous motion parallax. However, achieving

Effect of Ni and Urea on Growth, Nitrate and Nutrients Concentration in Lettuce (Lactuca sativa) Grown in Hydroponics

open access: yesMajallah-i ̒Ulum-i Bāghbānī, 2017
Introduction: The N source used in commercial hydroponic culture of vegetables is mainly NO3-N. The rate of NO3- uptake is usually high, particularly in leafy vegetables and it can be markedly increased when the NO3- supply in the environment is high. An

Flow Analysis in Pathological Microvascular Models by Ultrasound Localization Microscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 10, Issue 19, October 7, 2025.
This study presents a new platform combining ultrasound localization microscopy with biomimetic gelatin phantoms to analyze flow dynamics in small vessels with narrowing or obstructions. Using microbubble tracking, the method enables high‐resolution velocity mapping in 100–500 µm channels, revealing flow changes in pathological microvascular conditions

Epitaxial Self‐Assembled Vertically Aligned Nanocomposite Photoelectrodes with Tunable Ambipolar Response

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 13, Issue 30, October 24, 2025.
Ambipolar photoelectrodes enable controlled switching between anodic and cathodic photocurrents in response to light and applied potential. This work demonstrates epitaxial self‐assembled vertically aligned NiTiO3–TiO2 nanocomposite thin films with tunable ambipolar behavior.
