Counting Perron Numbers by Absolute Value [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We count various classes of algebraic integers of fixed degree by their largest absolute value. The classes of integers considered include all algebraic integers, Perron numbers, totally real integers, and totally complex integers.

Constrained ternary integers

open access: yes, 2018
An integer $n$ is said to be ternary if it is composed of three distinct odd primes. In this paper, we asymptotically count the number of ternary integers $n \leq x$ with the constituent primes satisfying various constraints.

Nearly irreducibility of polynomials and the Newton diagrams

open access: yes, 2019
Let f be a polynomial in two complex variables. We say that f is nearly irreducible if any two nonconstant polynomial factors of f have a common zero.
