Small-scale solar surface magnetism [PDF]
This contribution to "Solar Magnetic Variability and Climate" reviews small-scale magnetic features on the solar surface, in particular the strong-field but tiny magnetic concentrations that constitute network and plage and represent most magnetism outside sunspots and filaments.

When realized as inserts in high‐pressure die casting, aluminum cooling channels for electric powertrain components and similar applications typically require a stabilizing filler to survive the process. The present study investigates relinquishing this filler using additively manufactured inserts promising performance improvements.

Domino Effects in the Earth System -- The potential role of wanted tipping points [PDF]
Vital parts of the climate system, such as the West Antarctic Ice Sheet, are at risk even within the aspired aims of the Paris Agreement to limit global temperature rise to 1.5 -- 2{\deg}C. These so-called natural tipping elements are characterized by rapid qualitative shifts in their states once a critical threshold, e.g., of global mean temperature ...

The role of sustainability and sustainable development in climate change mitigation and adaptation [PDF]
Today, the best way to discern the interlinkages between climate change and sustainability and/or sustainable development is the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 13—Climate Action framework.

The various forms of anger about climate change in Australia and their relations with self-reported actions, intentions, and distress [PDF]
Action on societal issues is often precipitated by feelings of anger. This has been demonstrated reliably for responses to social inequality, but less for other issues.

The fused filament‐fabricated MAR‐M247 alloy without hot isostatic pressing shows the lowest porosity of 4%. Heat treatment at 1220 °C produces coarse precipitates and carbides. Specimens heat‐treated at 1220 °C exhibit higher tensile strength (683 MPa) and elongation (10%) at room temperature.
