Ultralight Soft Wearable Haptic Interface with Shear‐Normal‐Vibration Feedback

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This study proposes soft wearable haptic interface using pneumatic actuators and origami pumps. This interface can generate multiple sensations such as touching, slipping, and vibrating. To show performance and wearability of this interface, virtual reality is connected with the interface, and user tests are conducted.

Natural Entanglement Inspired Cilia‐Like Soft Gripper for Rapid Adaptive Grasping

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Inspired by natural entanglement, a lightweight, low‐cost soft gripper is developed using wire‐actuated silicone tubes. Rapid self‐entanglement enables adaptive grasping of diverse objects without the need for sensors or force feedback. Its simplicity and robustness enable effective use on mobile platforms, such as drones and underwater systems ...

Exploiting Multitask Deep Learning to Identify Multiple Heavy Metal Contamination at Large Scales

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A multitask deep learning framework evaluates manganese, chromium, and cobalt concentrations in European soils, achieving an average R2 of 0.75. From 2009 to 2015, soil concentrations increase significantly. Source analysis identifies anthropogenic manganese and geological chromium and cobalt origins.
