ABSTRACT In algal cultivation, nighttime biomass loss due to respiration and cell mortality can considerably reduce the amount of biomass produced during daylight. The adverse effect can be counteracted by mixotrophic cultivation, where an organic carbon (OC) source is used to supply the energy required for cell maintenance and division during darkness.

Endophytic fungi of P. auritum were evaluated for their ability to produce inhibitors of formation of advanced glycation end products (AGEs). Neopestalotiopsis sp. H2 and Diaporthe sp. H5 extracts were the most active. So, we performed their chemical profiling by untargeted and phenolics‐targeted metabolomic approaches to identify the potential ...

An integrated computational approach evaluating the binding between pre‐let‐7 microRNA and small‐molecule kinase inhibitors (SMKIs) revealed varied pre‐let‐7 binding affinities among the advanced SMKIs. The results justified the characterization of potential RNA targets for kinase inhibitors and small molecules with protein targets in general.

Bioelectrochemical treatment of oil sands process‐affected water: A comparative study
Comparative Efficiency of microbial fuel cell, microbial electrolysis cell, and microbial electrosynthesis cell systems for oil sands process‐affected water treatment. Abstract In this study, removal of dissolved organic carbon and naphthenic acids (NAs) from oil sands process‐affected water (OSPW) was evaluated in flow‐through microbial fuel cell (MFC)
