Intravaginal microbial flora by the 16S rRNA gene sequencing
American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 2011Conventional diagnosis of bacterial vaginosis contains some controversial points. To understand accurately the relationship between clinical stages and the microbiotas, the intravaginal microbial flora was analyzed by the clone library method.Vaginal fluid samples from 31 patients were examined. Lactobacillary grade, Nugent score, culture-based method,

Electrochemical biosensing of 16s rRNA gene sequence of Enterococcus faecalis
Biosensors and Bioelectronics, 2019Some of microorganisms are potential pathogens that can be infectious agents under some circumstances, and development of new detection methods of the pathogens is of high interest. In the present study, an Enterococcus faecalis (E. faecalis) DNA biosensor (ef-biosensor) was fabricated to quantify the bacterium genome. A specific E.

Globicatella sanguinis bacteraemia identified by partial 16S rRNA gene sequencing
Scandinavian Journal of Infectious Diseases, 2007Globicatella sanguinis is a gram-positive coccus, resembling non-haemolytic streptococci. The organism has been isolated infrequently from normally sterile sites of humans. Three isolates obtained by blood culture could not be identified by Rapid 32 ID Strep, but partial sequencing of the 16S rRNA gene revealed the identity of the isolated bacteria ...

Bacterial Metabarcoding by 16S rRNA Gene Ion Torrent Amplicon Sequencing
2015Ion Torrent is a next generation sequencing technology based on the detection of hydrogen ions produced during DNA chain elongation; this technology allows analyzing and characterizing genomes, genes, and species. Here, we describe an Ion Torrent procedure applied to the metagenomic analysis of 16S rRNA gene amplicons to study the bacterial diversity ...

Summary 16S rRNA‐based fingerprinting techniques allow rapid analyses of overall bacterial community structure but suffer from a lack of phylogenetic information hitherto retrievable from the short 16S rRNA gene sequences obtained from excised bands.

16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing of MRL/lpr mice
2023Systemic lupus erythematosus, characterized by persistent inflammation, is a complex autoimmune disorder without known cure. Dysbiosis of gut microbiota promotes autoimmune disorders that damage extraintestinal organs. 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing was performed on the fecal samples of MRL/lpr mice.

Topographic Map of Gammaproteobacteria using 16S rRNA gene sequence
2007Microbial identification is crucial for the study of infec- tious diseases. The classical method to attribute a specific name to a bacterial isolate to be identified is based on the comparison of morphologic and phenotypic characters to those described for type or typical strains.

Intraspecific sequence variation in 16S rRNA gene of Ureaplasma diversum isolates
Veterinary Microbiology, 2011Ureaplasma diversum infection in bulls may result in seminal vesiculitis, balanoposthitis and alterations in spermatozoids. In cows, it can cause placentitis, fetal alveolitis, abortion and the birth of weak calves. U. diversum ATCC 49782 (serogroups A), ATCC 49783 (serogroup C) and 34 field isolates were used for this study.
