Biocompatibility of 17-4 PH stainless steel foam for implant applications
In this study, biocompatibility of 17-4 PH stainless steel foam for biomedical implant applications was investigated. 17-4 PH stainless steel foams having porosities in the range of 40–82% with an average pore size of around 600 μm were produced by space holder-sintering technique.

Physical and mechanical properties of cast 17-4 PH stainless steel [PDF]
The physical and mechanical properties of an overaged 17-4 PH stainless steel casting have been examined. The tensile and compressive properties of cast 17-4 PH are only influenced to a slight degree by changing test temperature and strain rate. However, both the Charpy impact energy and dynamic fracture toughness exhibit a tough-to-brittle transition ...

Processing and properties of highly porous 17-4 PH stainless steel
Highly porous 17-4 PH stainless steel having porosities in the range of 39–82% with an average pore size of around 700 μm was successfully fabricated using space holder technique in powder metallurgy. Irregular carbamide particles were used as a space holder material. The final porosity was directly related to the added fraction of carbamide.

Production and aging of highly porous 17-4 PH stainless steel
This study describes production of highly porous 17-4 PH stainless steel for biomedical implant applications by space holder-sintering technique. 17-4 PH stainless steel powders were mixed with space holder and then compacted. For designing pore properties, both spherical and irregular shaped carbamide with different particle size ranges were used as ...
