Process Parameter Optimization of Directed Energy Deposited QT17‐4+ Steel

A novel QT17‐4+ stainless steel powder is used in directed energy deposition (DED), for the first time. Process parameters are optimized by the response surface methodology (RSM). The microstructure, level of porosity, phase content, and anisotropy in mechanical properties are characterized.
