The Lefschetz-Hopf theorem and axioms for the Lefschetz number

open access: yesFixed Point Theory and Applications, 2004
The reduced Lefschetz number, that is, where denotes the Lefschetz number, is proved to be the unique integer-valued function on self-maps of compact polyhedra which is constant on homotopy classes such that (1) for and ; (2) if is a map of a ...

An acoustic study on monophthongs in Central Australian Aboriginal English

open access: yesWorld Englishes, Volume 45, Issue 3, Page 680-703, September 2026.
Abstract We present an acoustic analysis of monophthongal vowel production in Central Australian Aboriginal English (CAAE), providing one of the first systematic examinations of this variety spoken by English‐as‐a‐first‐language (L1) speakers in Mparntwe/Alice Springs, Australia.

Some Krasnonsel'skiĭ-Mann Algorithms and the Multiple-Set Split Feasibility Problem

open access: yesFixed Point Theory and Applications, 2010
Some variable Krasnonsel'skiĭ-Mann iteration algorithms generate some sequences , , and , respectively, via the formula , , , where and the mod function takes values in , , , and are sequences in and are sequences of nonexpansive ...

Dipole‐Engineered Conductive Additives for Ultrastable Interphase Evolution in High‐Areal‐Capacity Silicon Anodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 62, 3 August 2026.
In the work reported herein, dipole‐engineered sulfonated carbon nanofibers enable conductive additives to actively regulate interphase formation in silicon anodes. Polar sulfonyl groups guide electrolyte decomposition to form a compact LiF‐rich interphase while promoting robust integration with silicon.

Fixed point theorems in spaces and -trees

open access: yesFixed Point Theory and Applications, 2004
We show that if is a bounded open set in a complete space , and if is nonexpansive, then always has a fixed point if there exists such that for all . It is also shown that if is a geodesically bounded closed convex subset of a complete -tree with

Glomus Tumor of the Lower Lip: A Rare Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Glomus tumor is a benign neoplasm of modified perivascular smooth muscle that rarely involves the oral cavity. We describe the clinicopathological and immunohistochemical features of a glomus tumor involving the lower lip in a middle‐aged woman.

Viscosity approximation fixed points for nonexpansive and -accretive operators

open access: yesFixed Point Theory and Applications, 2006
Let be a real reflexive Banach space, let be a closed convex subset of , and let be an -accretive operator with a zero. Consider the iterative method that generates the sequence by the algorithm where and are two sequences satisfying certain ...

Departing With the Wind: Spring Migration Timing in Brent Geese From Their Most Important Staging and Wintering Site, the Wadden Sea World Heritage Site

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 8, August 2026.
The timing of migratory departure reflects a balance between endogenous schedules and transient environmental opportunities. By linking GPS‐derived departure events with hourly atmospheric data, we demonstrate that wind assistance strongly increases departure probability in Brent Geese, while this selectivity weakens over time as migratory urgency ...

An Iteration Method for Nonexpansive Mappings in Hilbert Spaces

open access: yesFixed Point Theory and Applications, 2007
In real Hilbert space , from an arbitrary initial point , an explicit iteration scheme is defined as follows: , where , is a nonexpansive mapping such that is nonempty, is a -strongly monotone and -Lipschitzian mapping, , and .

A Review of the Effects of Freshwater Habitat Quality on Aquatic & Semi‐Aquatic Turtles

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 8, August 2026.
This literature review aims to provide a comprehensive review of the relationship between freshwater turtles and their aquatic environments. We also highlight areas which have been over‐ or under‐studied and offer recommendations for future research. ABSTRACT Freshwater turtles and terrapins require an aquatic habitat as part of their natural ecology ...
