Fracture behavior of grain boundaries in (U,Pu)O2 fuels: An atomistic study

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, EarlyView.
Abstract Classical atomistic simulations using the Cooper–Rushston–Grimes potential were carried out to observe the stability and the fracture properties of six special grain boundaries in (U1−x${\rm U}_{1-x}$, Pux)O2${\rm Pu}_x){\rm O}_2$. The formation energy decreases as a function of Pu content, while the cleavage energy increases.

Genomic Evaluation in Nellore Cattle for Reproductive Traits: Multiple Ways to Account for Missing Pedigrees

open access: yesJournal of Animal Breeding and Genetics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Missing pedigrees are a common problem in most populations. Animals with unknown ancestors are usually treated as founders; however, this can underestimate inbreeding, not properly account for different base populations, and bias breeding values.

CEO‐employee pay ratio disclosure and dividend policy

open access: yesJournal of Financial Research, EarlyView.
Abstract We examine whether and how the magnitude of the CEO pay ratio affects dividend policy in the context of inequality‐averse investors. Our results demonstrate a positive association between the two and remain robust to endogeneity concerns. We find that the CEO pay ratios positively affect dividends irrespective of whether CEO compensation ...

Osteology and arthrology of the ankle and tarsometatarsus of anoles (Iguania: Anolidae): not convergent with geckos but divergent from the ancestral iguanian condition

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, EarlyView.
Geckos and anoline iguanid lizards are well‐known for their possession of adhesive toepads, which are generally regarded as being convergent structures. We show that the anatomical configuration of the foot in these two lineages differs markedly and that these differences likely relate to the contrasing ways they deploy their adhesive systems and ...
