The Diagnostic Value of Immunohistochemistry and Biomarkers in the Diagnosis of Mesothelioma in Pleural/Peritoneal Effusions

open access: yesDiagnostic Cytopathology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Mesothelioma is a rare tumor that arises from the serosal cells lining the serous cavities, most commonly the pleura followed by the peritoneum. Presenting symptoms include pleuritic pain and bloody effusions that recur. Although cytologic analysis cannot determine the mesothelial subtype or in situ from invasive disease, the ...

Research progress and current status of dynamic wave propagation characteristics in rock mass: A review

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
This review elucidates the velocity–dispersion–attenuation coupling mechanisms of wave propagation in rock masses, compares six representative models, and reveals how pressure, temperature, mineral composition, and anisotropy jointly control dynamic responses in complex geological media.

Comparative Properties of Two Self‐Report Measures of Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder: Psychometric and Clinical Utility

open access: yesInternational Journal of Eating Disorders, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives We compared two measures of Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID)—the NIAS and the PARDI‐AR‐Q to determine which demonstrates better psychometric and clinical utility. Methods The study was pre‐registered (OSF; DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/N8WBF). Participants (aged ≥ 18 years, BMI > 18.5) were recruited via Prolific and screened

Excess Mortality Among Patients With Anorexia Nervosa Treated Involuntarily

open access: yesInternational Journal of Eating Disorders, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Anorexia nervosa (AN) is a severe psychiatric disorder with high morbidity and increased relative mortality compared to the general population. Involuntary treatment (IT) is implemented after exhausting voluntary treatment options. This study investigates mortality in patients with AN following IT, using IT as an indicator of patient

Consumer diversity drives stronger predation in tropical marine communities

open access: yesEcography, EarlyView.
Biotic interactions are predicted to be stronger in the tropics compared to higher latitudes, contributing to observed patterns of global biodiversity. While increased consumer diversity and more complex food webs are expected in tropical communities, the trophic dynamics underlying strong regional effects of predation are not well understood.
