Ground‐State Photoelectron Circular Dichroism of Methyl p‐Tolyl Sulfoxide by Single‐Photon Ionisation from a Table‐Top Source

open access: yesChemPhysChem, Volume 23, Issue 24, December 16, 2022., 2022
Using circularly‐polarised vacuum ultraviolet light generated from a high‐harmonic source, the remarkably large ground state photoelectron circular dichroism (PECD) of methyl p‐tolyl sulfoxide of 25 % is shown. The observation matches quantitatively with a theory that accounts for configuration interaction.

Reconciling reconstructed and simulated features of the winter Pacific/North American pattern in the early 19th century

open access: yes, 2014
. Reconstructions of past climate behavior often describe prominent anomalous periods that are not necessarily captured in climate simulations. Here, we illustrate the contrast between an interdecadal strong positive phase of the winter Pacific/North ...

How Much Should a 19th-Century French Bastard Inherit [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Difference Equations and Applications 3(1998), 385-388, 1998
Catalan's formula, for the portion of the inheritance that a legitimate child of a 19th-century deceased French gentleman should receive, is given a new proof (using Difference Operators), and generalized. Another, more computationally efficient, formula is also derived.
