Dietary differentiation of two co‐occurring common bat species (Eptesicus nilssonii and Pipistrellus pygmaeus)

open access: yesWildlife Biology, EarlyView.
Sympatric bat species can co‐exist and avoid interspecific competition via niche differentiation e.g. diet. Detecting dietary differences can be achieved by comparing dietary niches of sympatric and allopatric populations. If dietary overlap is higher in sympatry versus allopatry, co‐occurrence may be altering the dietary niche of the species.

SVLGaussian: Single View Language Gaussian Splatting

open access: yesCAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Open‐vocabulary 3D querying based on 3D Gaussian splatting (3DGS) shows great promise in facilitating accurate 3D query capabilities of AI systems. These methods typically rely on pre‐captured multi‐view images to enable natural language interactions with 3D scenes. In practice, when embodied AI encounters unexplored scenes, it is difficult to

Misalignment in Carbon Credit Programmes: Insights From Producer Preferences for Cover Crop and No‐Till Contracts

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study examines the factors influencing producer adoption of cover cropping and no‐till farming, two key carbon sequestration practices, within the context of voluntary carbon credit programmes (CCPs) in Kansas. Using a mixed‐methods survey that combines discrete choice experiments with farm‐level data from 370 producers, we estimate ...

Partisan Cities: How State‐Local Political Alignment Shapes Credit Risk and Information Processing in the Municipal Bond Market

open access: yesJournal of Accounting Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper studies how partisan alignment between city leaders and state governors shapes information processing and bond pricing in the municipal bond market. Using a novel data set on 1,045 U.S. cities from 2005 to 2019, we show that cities with the same political affiliation as the state governor face 9 basis points lower borrowing costs ...
