The classification of partially symmetric 3-braid links
We classify 3-braid links which are amphicheiral as unoriented links, including a new proof of Birman- Menasco’s result for the (orientedly) amphicheiral 3-braid links. Then we classify the partially invertible 3-braid links.

The $L^2$-(co)homology of groups with hierarchies [PDF]
We study group actions on manifolds that admit hierarchies, which generalizes the idea of Haken n-manifolds introduced by Foozwell and Rubinstein. We show that these manifolds satisfy the Singer conjecture in dimensions $n \le 4$. Our main application is

The mapping class group of a genus two surface is linear
In this paper we construct a faithful representation of the mapping class group of the genus two surface into a group of matrices over the complex numbers.

Double coset problem for parabolic subgroups of braid groups [PDF]
We provide the first solution to the double coset problem (DCP) for a large class of natural subgroups of braid groups, namely for all parabolic subgroups which have a connected associated Coxeter graph.

Dynnikov coordinates on virtual braid groups
We define Dynnikov coordinates on virtual braid groups. We prove that they are faithful invariants of virtual 2-braids, and present evidence that they are also very powerful invariants for general virtual ...

We take the fundamental group of the complement of the branch curve of a generic projection induced from canonical embedding of a surface. This group is stable on connected components of moduli spaces of surfaces. Since for many classes of surfaces it is

On the unrestricted virtual singular braid
Let n, m ∈ ℕ, n ≥ 3 and n ≥ m ≥ 2. In this paper, we study some properties of the unrestricted virtual singular braid of braid monoid UVSBmn and group UVSGmn.

Defeating the Ben-Zvi, Blackburn, and Tsaban Attack on the Algebraic Eraser [PDF]
The Algebraic Eraser Diffie-Hellman (AEDH) protocol was introduced in 2005 and published in 2006 by Anshel-Anshel-Goldfeld-Lemieux as a protocol suitable for use on platforms with constrained computational resources, such as FPGAs, ASICs, and wireless ...

On an action of the braid group B_{2g+2} on the free group F_{2g}
We construct an action of the braid group B_{2g+2} on the free group F_{2g} extending an action of B_4 on F_2 introduced earlier by Reutenauer and the author.
