Polonium 210Po in the phytobenthos from Puck Bay
Journal of Environmental Monitoring, 2003The aim of the work was to determine the 210Po content in phytobenthos species (seaweeds and angiosperms) from Puck Bay (southern Baltic). Alpha spectrometry was used to measure and calculate the activities and concentrations of polonium 210Po in the phytobenthos.

210Pb and 210Po in medicinal plants
Radiochemistry, 2015The activity concentrations of 210Pb and 210Po in 16 samples of medicinal plants sold in St. Petersburg pharmacies were determined. The activity concentrations of 210Pb and 210Po, recalculated to the sample fabrication dates, vary in the range from

The distribution of 210Po in human bone
Science of The Total Environment, 1993Recent measurements of natural radioactivity in human bone using alpha particle autoradiography have indicated that the alpha activity concentration in the bone marrow is similar to that found in the calcified bone. This paper describes radiochemical measurements made on the calcified bone and the associated bone marrow from three human femurs.

Plant uptake of 210Po from soil
Radiation Botany, 1970Abstract A study of plants grown in 210PoO2 contaminated soil indicated definite uptake through the root system. The Po concentration in the tissues varied with plant species and decreased with period of growth. Transfer coefficients (210Po per g dry plant/210Po Per g dry soil) were calculated and ranged from 3 × 10−2 to 3 × 10−6 for the plants grown

Temporal changes of 210Po in temperate coastal waters
Science of The Total Environment, 1998The temporal variation of Polonium-210 (210Po) was examined in coastal sea water, the mussel Mytilus edulis, the winkle Littorina littorea and green alga Ulva lactuca in order to investigate the entry of 210Po into the marine food chain. More than 99% of 210Po in the water column occurred in the particulate phase.

210Po AND 210Pb INHALATION BY CIGARETTE SMOKING IN ITALY
Health Physics, 2007210Po and its precursor 210Pb in cigarette smoke contribute a significant radiation dose to the lungs of smokers. In this work, the concentration of 210Po was determined in 17 of the most frequently smoked cigarette brands in Italy. Samples of tobacco, fresh filters, ash, and post-smoking filters were analyzed; 210Po was determined by alpha ...

Decay of 210At to levels in 210Po
Nuclear Physics A, 1972Abstract The electron-capture decay of 210 At has been reinvestigated and present data define twenty-three levels in 210 Po. The multipolarity of thirty-six transitions have been measured and combined with data from recent reaction studies to assign spins and parities to these levels. Evidence is presented which locates the 3 − collective level in

210Po Activity Concentrations in Cooked Marine Food
Journal of FisheriesSciences.com, 2017In this work the 210Po activity concentrations determined in the most common marine species consumed by the population of Southern Spain are shown and discussed. The determinations have been done on aliquots of the raw edible materials and in aliquots previously cooked in the usual way they are ingested.

210Po secretion from sweat glands
Journal of Environmental Radioactivity, 2017The results of the research indicated that the 210Po activity concentration in sweat samples was between 0.22 ± 0.03 to 2.10 ± 0.15 mBq·g−1 d.w. The obtained results of the studies showed that smoking and eating fish led to higher activity concentrations of 210Po in sweat in comparison to the control group.

Contamination of a Soft-drink Manufacturing Plant by 210Po
Health Physics, 1990An investigation was undertaken of the contamination of equipment and flooring by 210Po, released from a static eliminator source, at a soft-drink manufacturing plant. The detection and establishment of extent of contamination, development of decontamination and control procedures and difficulties in implementing those procedures are discussed ...
