Reproducibility of serum testing for environmental allergen‐specific IgE in dogs in Europe

open access: yesVeterinary Dermatology, Volume 32, Issue 3, Page 251-e67, June 2021., 2021
Background – Serum testing for allergen‐specific immunoglobulin (Ig)E is commonly employed to identify allergens used for allergen‐specific immunotherapy in dogs, yet the reliability of results has been a matter of debate. Objective – The aim of this study was to evaluate the reproducibility of serum tests for environmental allergen‐specific IgE in ...

On topologies on the underlying set of a topological monoid induced by its unitary extensions

open access: yesTopological Algebra and its Applications, 2022
Extensions of a given topological monoid where all its unitary Cauchy filters converge, can induce di˙erent topologies on its underlying set. We study properties of these topologies and prove a condition under which the initial topology of this monoid is

On a locally compact monoid of cofinite partial isometries of ℕ with adjoined zero

open access: yesTopological Algebra and its Applications, 2022
Let 𝒞ℕ be a monoid which is generated by the partial shift α : n↦n +1 of the set of positive integers ℕ and its inverse partial shift β : n + 1 ↦n. In this paper we prove that if S is a submonoid of the monoid Iℕ∞ of all partial cofinite isometries of ...

Positive answers to Koch’s problem in special cases

open access: yesTopological Algebra and its Applications, 2020
A topological semigroup is monothetic provided it contains a dense cyclic subsemigroup. The Koch problem asks whether every locally compact monothetic monoid is compact.

Right simple subsemigroups and right subgroups of compact convergence semigroups

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, Volume 23, Issue 12, Page 849-854, 2000., 2000
Clifford and Preston (1961) showed several important characterizations of right groups. It was shown in Roy and So (1998) that, among topological semigroups, compact right simple or left cancellative semigroups are in fact right groups, and the closure of a right simple subsemigroup of a compact semigroup is always a right subgroup.

A note on conservative measures on semigroups

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, Volume 15, Issue 1, Page 195-198, 1992., 1992
Consider (S, B, μ) the measure space where S is a topological metric semigroup and μ a countably additive bounded Borel measure. Call μ conservative if all right translations tx : s → sx, x ∈ S (which are assumed closed mappings) are conservative with respect (S, B, μ) in the ergodic theory sense. It is shown that the semigroup generated by the support

On locally compact semitopological O-bisimple inverse ω-semigroups

open access: yesTopological Algebra and its Applications, 2018
We describe the structure of Hausdorff locally compact semitopological O-bisimple inverse ω- semigroups with compact maximal subgroups. In particular, we show that a Hausdorff locally compact semitopological O-bisimple inverse ω-semigroup with a compact ...

A note on the support of right invariant measures

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, Volume 15, Issue 2, Page 405-408, 1992., 1992
A regular measure μ on a locally compact topological semigroup is called right invariant if μ(Kx) = μ(K) for every compact K and x in its support. It is shown that this condition implies a property reminiscent of the right cancellation law. This is used to generalize a theorem of A.

Modified Whyburn semigroups

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, Volume 11, Issue 1, Page 205-207, 1988., 1986
Let f : X → Y be a continuous semigroup homomorphism. Conditions are given which will ensure that the semigroup X ∪ Y is a topological semigroup, when the modified Whyburn topology is placed on X ∪ Y.

A criterion of the existence of an embedding of a monothetic monoid into a topological group

open access: yesTopological Algebra and its Applications, 2019
Using properties of unitary Cauchy filters on monothetic monoids, we prove a criterion of the existence of an embedding of such a monoid into a topological group.
