Reproducibility of serum testing for environmental allergen‐specific IgE in dogs in Europe
Background – Serum testing for allergen‐specific immunoglobulin (Ig)E is commonly employed to identify allergens used for allergen‐specific immunotherapy in dogs, yet the reliability of results has been a matter of debate. Objective – The aim of this study was to evaluate the reproducibility of serum tests for environmental allergen‐specific IgE in ...

Right simple subsemigroups and right subgroups of compact convergence semigroups
Clifford and Preston (1961) showed several important characterizations of right groups. It was shown in Roy and So (1998) that, among topological semigroups, compact right simple or left cancellative semigroups are in fact right groups, and the closure of a right simple subsemigroup of a compact semigroup is always a right subgroup.

A note on conservative measures on semigroups
Consider (S, B, μ) the measure space where S is a topological metric semigroup and μ a countably additive bounded Borel measure. Call μ conservative if all right translations tx : s → sx, x ∈ S (which are assumed closed mappings) are conservative with respect (S, B, μ) in the ergodic theory sense. It is shown that the semigroup generated by the support

A note on the support of right invariant measures
A regular measure μ on a locally compact topological semigroup is called right invariant if μ(Kx) = μ(K) for every compact K and x in its support. It is shown that this condition implies a property reminiscent of the right cancellation law. This is used to generalize a theorem of A.

Let f : X → Y be a continuous semigroup homomorphism. Conditions are given which will ensure that the semigroup X ∪ Y is a topological semigroup, when the modified Whyburn topology is placed on X ∪ Y.

Constructions of positive commutative semigroups on the plane, II
A positive semiroup is a topological semigroup containing a subsemigroup N isomorphic to the multiplicative semigroup of nonnegative real numbers, embedded as a closed subset of E2 in such a way that 1 is an identity and 0 is a zero. Using results in Farley [1] it can be shown that positive commutative semigroups on the plane constructed by the ...

An amenability property of algebras of functions on semidirect products of semigroups
Let S1 and S2 be semitopological semigroups, S1 τ S2 a semidirect product. An amenability property is established for algebras of functions on S1 τ S2. This result is used to decompose the kernel of the weakly almost periodic compactification of S1 τ S2 into a semidirect product.
