Hot Hydroforming of 22MnB5 Tube by Resistance Heating
JOM, 2016To promote the application of high strength steels in automobile bodies, the practicability of hot hydroforming of tube by resistance heating is illustrated. From the results of experiments conducted to measure temperature distributions of the tube during the forming process, a method to improve temperature uniformity has been proposed and achieved ...

Basic Investigations on the Hot Stamping Steel 22MnB5
Advanced Materials Research, 2005Basic research concerning the material properties of the hot stamping steel 22MnB5 has been carried out. A survey is given about the as-delivered conditions with hardness tests, micrographs and flow curves. The process window of the austenitization time, before hot stamping can take place, is defined by austenitization tests.

Study on 22MnB5 Steel Microstructure in Hot Forming Progress
Advanced Materials Research, 2012Hot forming is a method to make products with ultra high strength steels which typically used in automotive sector. 22MnB5 is one of the most typical hot forming steels. In this paper, hot forming process of 22MnB5 steel is simulated by thermo-mechanical coupled FE software Pam-stamp 2011.

Microstructural analysis of hot press formed 22MnB5 steel
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2017This paper presents a microstructural study on hot press formed 22MnB5 steel for enhanced mechanical properties. Hot press forming process consists of simultaneous forming and quenching of heated blank. The 22MnB5 steel was processed at three different parameter settings: quenching time, water temperature and water flow rate. 22MnB5 was processed using

Anisotropic and Mechanical Behavior of 22MnB5 in Hot Stamping Operations
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2007The hot stamping of quenchable High Strength Steels offers the possibility of weight reduction in structural components maintaining the safety requirements together with enhanced accuracy and formability of sheets. The proper design of this technology requires a deep understanding of material behavior during the entire process chain, in terms of ...

Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of 22MnB5 Hot Stamping Part
Advanced Materials Research, 2014Microstructure and mechanical properties of different area of 22MnB5 hot stamping part were analysis by experiment. The results show that the maximum tensile strength reaches 1578MPa at bottom surface area, and the elongation is at the region of 8.5~12 with die cooling area, and the area of bottom surface has higher tensile strength than that of side ...

Fatigue strength of hybrid welded 22MnB5 overlap joints
Materials Testing, 2016Abstract In order to reduce the weight of automotive parts, lightweight materials like the press hardened AlSi coated high strength steel 22MnB5 is used. This steel enables a reduction of wall thicknesses and simultaneously ensures a high stiffness of the part, e. g., the B pillar.

Microstructure and Mechanical Property of 22MnB5 High-Strength Steel
Advanced Materials Research, 2013We have mental heat treatment for 22MnB5 steel with seven different experimental schemes and have mechanical property test on the seven steels. Then the microstructure and mechanical property of treated steels are studied, and the results show that 300°C is the optimum preservation temperature, at which we can get the optimum specific elongation of ...

Wear Behaviour of Al-Si and Zn Coated 22MnB5 in Hot Stamping
Advanced Materials Research, 2014Hot stamping of quenchenable high strength steels represents the most promising forming technology for the manufacturing of safety and crash relevant car parts. In such process, the manganese-boron steel 22MnB5 is homogeneously austenitized, formed and subsequently quenched in one process step, so that complex geometric structural components can be ...
