Developing Ultra‐High Strength Bainitic Steel by Hot Stamping Process and Anisothermal Holding

open access: yessteel research international, Volume 95, Issue 9, September 2024.
This study aims to produce bainitic steel parts after hot stamping/press hardening by using an anisothermal annealing. A bainitic matrix including martensite, fine‐grained ferrite, and retained austenite was obtained and analyzed by characterization techniquies. Different cooling strategies were employed to alter the microstructure to achieve a tensile

Comparison of FE Simulation and Experiment on Tensile Test of TWB-HPF 22MnB5 Steel

open access: yesMetals
Finite element (FE) analysis of the tensile test of TWB-HPF 22MnB5 steel was performed and compared with the experimental results. To improve the accuracy of the simulation, the damage theory of FLD and ductile damage theory were used in 2D and 3D ...

Influence of Quenching and Partitioning on the Mechanical Properties of Low‐Silicon 33MnCrB5 Boron Steel

open access: yessteel research international, Volume 95, Issue 3, March 2024.
Single‐step quenching and partitioning treatments are designed through simulation and applied to a commercial low‐silicon 33MnCrB5 boron steel. A fraction of retained austenite is effectively stabilized under different conditions, resulting in high tensile properties and improved ductility.

Effects of the Intermediate Precooling Parameters on the Mechanical Properties of a Tailored Press‐Hardened Component in Advanced High‐Strength Steel

open access: yessteel research international, Volume 95, Issue 1, January 2024.
This work investigates a new technology employed in the press hardening process to obtain tailored mechanical properties, namely, the intermediate precooling technology. The study is addressed through finite‐element models and experimental tests on a laboratory scale. For the experimental tests, Gleeble physical simulator is adopted to obtain specimens
