High-energy photofission in 238U, 232Th and 209Bi
Nuclear Physics A, 1970Abstract The mass-yield distributions from photofission of 238U and 232Th at 300–1100 MeV and of 209Bi at 700 MeV have been measured using catcher-foil techniques combined with gammaray spectroscopy. The Cross sections of symmetric and asymmetric photofission in uranium and thorium have been calculated from the peak-to-valley ratios. The experimental

The mass and energy distributions of fission fragments in reactions 16O + 232Th, 16O + 238U, 22Ne + 232Th, and 22Ne + 238U are measured to investigate the role of closed proton and neutron shells in the fission of 248Cf, 254Fm, and 260No nuclei at excitation energies of 40–45 MeV.

Feeding of the 232Th levels from the decay of 236U
Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 2002Population of the 6+ 332 keV level in 232Th from the decay of 236U was observed for the first time. The 49, 112, and 171 keV gamma-ray energies and relative intensities from the decay of 236U were measured.

Fission of 232Th in a spallation neutron field
Physics of Particles and Nuclei Letters, 2016The spatial distributions of thorium fission reaction rate in a spallation neutron field of thick lead target bombarded by protons or deuterons with energy between 1.0 and 3.7 GeV were measured. Approximately a linear dependence of the thorium fission rate on the beam energy is observed. The mean fission cross section of 232Th 〈σf〉 ≈ 123 mb and it does
