Measures of Fermi surfaces and absence of singular continuous spectrum for magnetic Schroedinger operators [PDF]
Fermi surfaces are basic objects in solid state physics and in the spectral theory of periodic operators. We define several measures connected to Fermi surfaces and study their measure theoretic properties. From this we get absence of singular continuous spectrum and of singular continuous components in the density of states for symmetric periodic ...

Wave Packets can Factorize Numbers [PDF]
We draw attention to various aspects of number theory emerging in the time evolution of elementary quantum systems with quadratic phases. Such model systems can be realized in actual experiments. Our analysis paves the way to a new, promising and effective method to factorize numbers.

Flow of hypermagnetic helicity in the embryo of a new phase in the electroweak phase transition [PDF]
The dynamics of the magnetic helicity during the electroweak phase transition in the early Universe is studied. It is shown that the boundary surface between symmetric (hypermagnetic) phase and Maxwellian phase with a broken symmetry is a membrana for the separation of the magnetic helicity.

Interplay between one-dimensional confinement and crystallographic anisotropy in ballistic hole quantum wires [PDF]
We study the Zeeman splitting in induced ballistic 1D quantum wires aligned along the [233] and [011] axes of a high mobility (311)A undoped heterostructure. Our data shows that the g-factor anisotropy for magnetic fields applied along the high symmetry [011] direction can be explained by the 1D confinement only.

Pros and cons of HaloPlex enrichment in cancer predisposition genetic diagnosis
Panel sequencing is a practical option in genetic diagnosis. Enrichment and library preparation steps are critical in the diagnostic setting. In order to test the value of HaloPlex technology in diagnosis, we designed a custom oncogenetic panel including
