Spatial compounding of 3-D ultrasound images

1997
In this paper we investigate the use of spatial compounding to reduce speckle in 3-D ultrasound. 3-D voxel arrays are reconstructed by compounding a large number of overlapping B-scans. The reconstruction algorithm uses a novel landmark-based registration technique to accurately register each B-scan as it is inserted into the voxel array.

[3-D imaging of the liver].

Der Radiologe, 1996
Three dimensional imaging of the liver is focused on the spatial visualization of focal lesions in relation to vascular landmarks to support surgical decision making. Additionally the volume estimation of metastases or liver segments is considered in the patient's oncologic follow-up and the planning of the surgical approach.
