ADIOL protects against 3-NP-induced neurotoxicity in rats: Possible impact of its anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-apoptotic actions

Progress in Neuro-Psychopharmacology and Biological Psychiatry, 2015
Huntington's disease (HD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder with a wide spectrum of cognitive, behavioral and motor abnormalities. The mitochondrial toxin 3-nitropropionic acid (3-NP) effectively induces specific behavioral changes and selective striatal lesions similar to that observed in HD.

Conserved structures among the nucleocapsid proteins of the paramyxoviridae: Complete nucleotide sequence of human parainfluenza virus type 3 NP mRNA

Virology, 1986
The nucleotide sequence of the mRNA coding for the nucleocapsid protein (NP) of the paramyxovirus, human parainfluenza virus type 3 (PIV-3), has been determined. The NP mRNA was found to contain 1642 bases, excluding poly(A), and encode a protein of 515 amino acids, with a molecular weight of 57,823.

Syntheses and characterization of thallium(I) complexes with 3-nitrophenoxide [Tl(3-np)], 4-nitrobenzoate [Tl(4-nb)] and 2,4-dinitrophenoxide [Tl(2,4-dnp)]: X-ray crystal structures of [Tl(3-np)]n and Tl(2,4-dnp) (two new polymeric compounds)

Polyhedron, 2002
Abstract Complexes thallium(I)3-nitrophenoxide [Tl(3-np)], thallium(I)2,4-dinitrophenoxide [Tl(2,4-dnp)] and thallium(I)4-nitrobenzoate [Tl(4-nb)] have been synthesized using a direct reaction between TlNO 3 and the appropriate ligand. The complexes have been isolated and characterized by IR spectra and CHN elemental analyses.

Neuroprotective potential of Cilostazol in 3-NP provoked Huntington's disease-associated symptoms

Research Journal of Pharmacy and Technology, 2021
Huntington's disease (HD), a neurodegenerative condition specified by mitochondrial deficits, psychiatric and cognitive impairment developed due to neuronal damage in the brain. 3-nitropropionic acid (3-NP), an inhibitor of succinate dehydrogenase develops behavioral, biochemical as well as histological alterations in the striatal region of brain ...

Lercanidipine boosts the efficacy of mesenchymal stem cell therapy in 3-NP-induced Huntington's disease model rats via modulation of the calcium/calcineurin/NFATc4 and Wnt/β-catenin signalling pathways.

Neurochemistry International, 2019
3-Nitropropionic acid (3-NP) induces a spectrum of Huntington's disease (HD)-like neuropathologies in the rat striatum. The present study aimed to demonstrate the neuroprotective effect of lercanidipine (LER) in rats with 3-NP-induced neurotoxicity ...

Oxytocin protects against 3-NP induced learning and memory impairment in rats: sex differences in behavioral and molecular responses to the context of prenatal stress.

Behavioural Brain Research, 2019
Learning and memory impairment manifests years before the onset of motor impairments in Huntington's disease (HD). Oxytocin (OXT), as a neurohypophyseal neuropeptide has a key role in both learning and memory.

STIM1, STIM2, and PDI Participate in Cellular Fate Decisions in Low Energy Availability Induced by 3-NP in Male Rats

Neurotoxicity Research, 2021
Impairment in the energetic function of mitochondria is seen in many neurologic disorders like neurodegeneration. It disrupts ATP production, gives rise to oxidative stress, and ultimately challenges the viability of neurons. In this situation, neural cells use complex crosstalk between various subcellular elements to make live-or-die decisions about ...

Effect of Capsaicin on 3-NP-Induced Neurotoxicity: A Pre-Clinical Study

Neurochemical Research
The study objectives are to investigate the ability of capsaicin to revert the toxic effects in glutamate and lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced neurotoxicity in Neuro2a (N2a) cells as well as thwarting cognitive impairments, mitochondrial deficits, and oxidative insults induced by 3-nitropropanoic acid (3-NP) in a rodent model of Huntington's disease ...
