The Onset of Planet Formation in Brown Dwarf Disks

open access: yes, 2005
The onset of planet formation in protoplanetary disks is marked by the growth and crystallization of sub-micron-sized dust grains accompanied by dust settling toward the disk mid-plane.

Meniscus Pixel Printing for Contact‐Lens Vision Sensing and Robotic Control

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A visual‐sensing contact lens is enabled by meniscus pixel printing (MPP), which rapidly patterns a 200 µm perovskite photodetector pixel in 1 s without masks, vacuum processing, or bulky equipment. A deep‐learning‐based super‐resolution reconstructs sparse on‐lens signals into 80 × 80 high‐resolution visual information, while AI‐driven eye‐tracking ...

Furan‐Substituted Phosphine‐Oxide as an Efficient Interfacial Modifier for Wide‐Bandgap Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We report phosphine‐oxide interlayers for wide‐bandgap perovskite solar cells, in which tuned P = O Lewis basicity enables selective passivation of buried NiOx/perovskite interfaces and introduces interfacial dipoles that strengthen the built‐in field.

Atomic Layer Deposition in Transistors and Monolithic 3D Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Transistors are fundamental building blocks of modern electronics. This review summarizes recent progress in atomic layer deposition (ALD) for the synthesis of two‐dimensional (2D) metal oxides and transition‐metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs), with particular emphasis on their enabling role in monolithic three‐dimensional (M3D) integration for next ...

Magnetic Resonance Imaging Evaluation of Photodynamic Therapy with Indocyanine Green in Atherosclerosis Plaques Before and After Gadovist Administration

open access: yesInternational Journal of Translational Medicine
Background: Singlet oxygen (1O2) generation in biological samples remains a significant challenge. Studying the mechanism of 1O2 action during photodynamic therapy (PDT) in atherosclerotic plaques in vitro represents an innovative cardiological approach.

Glass Transition in the Polaron Dynamics of CMR Manganites

open access: yes, 2002
Neutron scattering measurements on a bilayer manganite near optimal doping show that the short-range polarons correlations are completely dynamic at high T, but then freeze upon cooling to a temperature T* 310 K.

Boron‐Doped Nano‐Crystalline Coated Carbon Fibers for Phasic Dopamine Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This uniform coating presents a mix of graphitic and diamond‐like carbon to create a mechanically and electrically robust alternative for the electrochemical detection of dopamine. The electrodes in this work possess the equivalent sensitivity to the state‐of‐the‐art FSCV dopamine detecting electrodes, whilst demonstrating an ability to withstand ...
